Today’s stylish London wedding is proof that, sometimes, less is more. With a small guestlist of friends and family who flew in from all over the world, Australian-couple Gemma and Daniel were able to ensure that everyone was seriously well looked after, opting for a private room at Somerset House and gifting Evermore candles as favours (not to mention a pitstop for espresso martinis between the ceremony and reception; one way to make sure all your guests get where they need to be on time!). The monochrome styling – with white bridesmaids dresses, black tuxedos and white roses – is seriously sophisticated and a timely reminder that often the colours which shine brightest are the classics.
My heart always soars when I spy a London wedding, especially when I hear their budget was only £5000! Gorgeous Australian bride and groom, Lara and Josh, certainly made the most of North London’s offerings with an intimate ceremony at Islington Town Hall, followed by a foliage-filled, champagne-fuelled reception at the uber cool Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings. Photographed by Olivia & Dan – members of our handpicked wedding supplier directory The List – their big day is a picture-perfect story of love, laughter and happily ever after, not to mention a beautiful beaded Needle & Thread dress that looks like it was made just for Lara.
There’s something so striped back about elopements. It really is all about the couple, the love, and what’s truly important to them.
Alicja and Chris adore London so it was there only choice when it came to the location. You can tell they have a good eye for fashion too. Alicja’s Agata Wojtkiewicz Atelier gown makes her look like a grecian goddess with its one shoulder detail, and to see her mustard yellow Manolo Blahnik’s poking under the hem is like a little ray of sunshine. Not to be outdone Groom Chris wows in a striking cobalt blue Paul Smith suit and tie by Ian Scott Kettle.
Making this intimate union even more adorable is that it all started with a proposal with a yellow De Beers diamond. All this and more was captured beautifully by Joasis Photography, so sit back relax and enjoy.
We’ve long been a fan of a cheese tower as an alternative to a traditional wedding cake, especially when they’re as beautiful as todays masterpiece. It’s fits in beautifully with the industrial Brixton East wedding venue and compliments the colour scheme of this city wedding to perfection with its herb, grape and fig decor.
Vicky and Fraser’s contemporary style shines through in their fashion choices too. Whilst the Bridesmaids don Jumpsuits from Zara, bride Vicky opts for a gorgeous figure hugging gown from Belle & Bunty. The captured of her (and her girls) by Joanna Bongard Phography outside the pink door is literally bridal perfection.
With bags more personality and fairy lights to swoon over, you’ll be hard pressed not to be bowled over by this adorable couple and their wedding.
Having your day your way, means choosing which bits to spend money on, and which bits to save money on. For Kylie, bagging a bargain dress was really important, as her and Koray wanted to spend more on the flowers, entertainment, food and the photography. You’d never tell that Kylie’s dress wasn’t super expensive, she looks gorgeous and the it’s clear that the whole day really reflects these two as a couple. It’s relaxed, stylish and fun.
Images come from the lovely Olivia & Dan, who have captured every moment to perfection.
Check out Saira’s fushia pink jewel encrusted Sophia Webster shoes proudly on display with her adorable tea length gown which was lovingly made by her friend, aren’t they both utterly divine, and doesn’t she look a picture.
All the fashion was a little nod to the couples favourite era the 60s, Groom Jim in a slim fitting grey suit and burgundy tie perfectly complimenting the bridesmaids dresses. Then there’s all the fabulous captures by Laura Babb Photo who portrays all the fun and vintage vibes this London pub wedding entails beautifully.
I don’t think there are many of us who don’t adore the beautiful designs of Needle & Thread. Their dresses are embellished, elegant, feminine and really wearable, making them the perfect choice for stylish brides and the perfect choice for gorgeous Laura and her relaxed city wedding to Nicolas.
The French duo decided to bring their friends and families to London to share their love of our excellent capital with them all. It looks like everyone had the loveliest time celebrating together with good food, good wine and good cheese (French naturally). Images come from RMW favourite Laura Debourde.
How beautiful is Katie?! The relaxed fit of her dress is just gorgeous and you’d never know it was in fact a bargainous purchase from Coast. It just goes to show that YOU know your style best, so whether your dress is £10,000 or £100, if it feels right – then go for it.
That was pretty much the whole ethos of Katie and Ryan’s East London shindig anyway, they chose a venue that celebrated their love of music, allowed them to have a pizza van and just generally turn the blank canvas space into a cosy, rustic wedding heaven. Enjoy this one lovelies, it’s laid back and stylish, with a big dose of East End charm.
I’ve loved this wedding dress from Katya Katya Shehurina ever since I clapped eyes on it’s delicate-lace-pink-underlay loveliness and so it’s SUCH a pleasure to finally blog a real wedding with the Bride wearing it!!! And doesn’t Carly wear it well?
London weddings at Islington town hall always have a really cool vibe and this one is no exception. With a pub reception at The Peasant too, it’s all about good food, good drink and good times. The menu for this wedding day made me salivate. Seriously good grub. As well as being self proclaimed foodies, Carly and Sam are also really into their music and so that was a really crucial component of the day for them too. It sounds like a proper party went down in Clerkenwell on their wedding night…
