Geek Chic

Friday fact for you: Six out of ten people wear glasses, yet we rarely see our brides or grooms donning their spectacles on their big day, so this ‘geek chic’ inspiration from Rose & Dandy and Lola Rose Photography is most definitely a welcome sight. If you pardon the pun!

The beautiful bride looks über cool in vintage inspired gowns, (the high neck and polka dot tulle number is making me weak at the knees), and the Fifth and Spring socks worn with blue suede block heels looks both stylish and comfy.

The location for all this immense style was the gorgeous Swiss Garden Fernery & Grotto at Shuttleworth, which was filled with pampas grass, hydrangeas and gerbera floral arrangements, and coloured goblets, taper candles and platter tablescape. All of which will definitely get your pinning fingers twitching. Enjoy.

Lucy & Jon by Lola Rose Photography Pin Image

Lucy & Jon

Bride and Groom, Lucy and Jon had a glorious outside wedding ceremony at Elmely Nature Reserve with the picturesque countryside making a heavenly backdrop for their vows. They then partied the night away in the fabulous barn reception, which looked absolutely breathtaking covered in an abundance of colourful wild flower arrangements by the oh so talented Joanne Truby. It also included lots of homemade wooden signs, and a fabulous plant pot table plan, which I know will ALL be pinned within an inch of their lives.

Bride Lucy looks truly beautiful in an Alice Temperley gown, as do her bridesmaids in dusky pink beaded gowns from ASOS, all adding to the laid back boho vibes of the day. And capturing all this loveliness is the fabulous Lola Rose Photography, whose dreamy documentary style make this wedding even more special.

Caz & Craig

How incredibly romantic to have your Husband-to-be playing your favourite song on his guitar whilst you walk down the aisle towards him. I bet there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It’s actually giving me goosebumps thinking about it.

As you can guess Caz and Craig didn’t follow tradition and opted for a relaxed boho wedding in The Eden Valley of the Lake District. Having the twinkliest of humanist ceremonies with hand fastening in a rustic barn, followed by a delicious afternoon tea served by Polly’s Vintage Caravan, and a lively reception in one of Special Events Tipi’s.

I love all the succulent and moss decor and Caz’s wild thistle, grass, berry and cabbage flower bouquet is truly gorgeous, the perfect accompaniment to her gorgeous Jenny Packham Bardot gown and Tesoro headdress. Groom Craig is also rocking a pair of Tartan trousers & tails in homage to his Grandfather.

Anna & Simon

Peachy corals and baby blue colour combinations are one of our favourite colour schemes here at RMW HQ so I was especially thrilled to see that Anna and Simon utilising these hues in their big day at The Pines Calyx.

This day is classic elegance at its very best.

I love all the sentimental and heartfelt touches too; from the pair’s decision to marry at Anna’s grandparents church and Anna’s grandpa ringing the church bells for the newlyweds as they exited the church. Anna’s mum also made an utterly dreamy floral arch on the church gate and I’m told that most of the local village turned out to see Anna walk to the church and wish the happy couple well. Just wonderful!

Jemma & Mike

What could be more classic and beautiful than an English country wedding with a tea theme! There are tea favours, flower arrangements in tea pots and of course a cream tea for guests to enjoy. Anybody else craving a Twinings & scone right now?!

All of this traditional charm took place in the gorgeous rustic Bonhams Barn in Hampshire. Every inch of the barn and surrounding fields was decorated to perfection. I absolutely adore the hay bale chill out area with fringed lamps and votives hanging from the tree, I bet that was a really romantic spot to sit when the sun was setting. Talking of romantic & sunsets, how dreamy is that portrait of Jemma & Mike with the bicycle! *Swoon*

Jemma’s delicate lace Sottero & Midgely gown and Mike’s dapper grey Bartlett and Butcher tails suit are the perfect finishing touches to this wonderful, sartorial, elegant wedding.

Natalie & Alex

The tipi with all it’s twinkling fairy lights & candelabras give you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside; it looks truly magical & what’s even more special is that it was all at Natalie’s parents home in Surrey.

The church ceremony sounds like a wonderful service; especially with the Vicar pulling out his Saxophone and treating guests to a little tune during the hymns! I can honestly say I’ve never heard of such a treat and I bet it was a truly fabulous experience.

Everybody looks absolutely stunning in their timeless wedding attire. I love Natalie’s lace fishtail gown, Alex’s traditional morning suit and the Bridesmaids red dresses & fur stoles are just perfect for a winter wedding!

Everything feels so wonderfully classic, warm & heartfelt and you can’t help but wish you were there…

Emma & Paul

Whilst the vintage gramophone played a chilled out 1930s soundtrack for Emma & Paul’s wedding day, guests sipped cider, relaxed on hay bales and enjoyed the English country garden at Stoke Place. They were even treated to a fabulous garden fete including games such as welly throwing, a tin can alley and more. How fabulous!

Emma looked absolutely stunning in her Pronovias ‘Lary’ wedding gown with crystal detailing and mermaid tulle skirt. I love all the embellishment on the dress and it fits in with the vintage theme perfectly. Infact the whole bridal party look pretty stylish in their attire and the shot of them in the shades is so cool and playful all at the same time!

Emma & Paul had so much fun designing, styling and doing all the DIY for their day, they’ve decided to set up their own hire business including the props used at their wedding. Well done guys I think you’ll be fab at it as your day is Pin-tastic!
