Garden for Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Home with DIY Decor

BUDGET £5 – 10K

We have a feeling that using your home or a family members garden for wedding celebrations is going to become a very popular choice over the next couple of months. Especially when you can have a gorgeous day like Olivia & Charlie’s, which was full of DIY decor and wildflowers nurtured, cut and arranged by sister-in-law Hayley. Even the rain couldn’t dampen their spirits as they said I do under umbrellas and went ahead with the outdoor nuptials as planned. Their beaming smiles captured by Virginia Photography say it all.

NHS Wedding – Dr and Nurse Marry in Hospital Chapel Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

BUDGET <£5K

You may have seen the heartwarming story of the NHS wedding of Dr Annalan Navaratnam and Nurse Jann Tipping in the news recently. They got married at the chapel in Guys and St Thomas Hospital in London where they work. They are one of the many couples who were forced to postpone their original wedding due to the Coronavis outbreak, but quickly realised they didn’t want to wait for the Coronavirus pandemic to be over before they vowed to be committed to one another and begin married life. We share all the wonderful wedding moments you may not have seen or read, including Annalan doing Jann’s hair on the wedding morning and Jann’s nephew throwing confetti at the computer screens during an intimate virtual reception.

BUDGET £12.5 – 15K

Even gale forced winds couldn’t stop Maddie and Nick from having the time of their lives at their Tunnels Beaches wedding in Devon. The unexpected gusts of wind sweeping Maddie’s veil into the air made for some amazing, fun portraits by Hayley Savage Photography, with the couples smile and happiness radiating from every moment captured. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate her braided updo too? Not a hair out of place, even with all that wind!

Ivory, Gold and Grey Colour Scheme for Whimsical Country House Wedding at Brympton House with Bride in St Patrick La Sposa, shot by Helen Cawte Photography Pin Image

Ivory, Gold and Grey Colour Scheme for a Whimsical Country House Wedding at Brympton House

We are so in the mood for a beautiful – and beauty-filled – wedding, and this delightful day does not disappoint. Brympton House provides the perfect backdrop for the celebrations, which include a blushing bride in St Patrick La Sposa and a Britten Weddings veil (discovered through RMW’s handpicked supplier directory, The List), an elegant ivory, gold and grey colour scheme, a homemade chocolate biscuit refrigerator cake (mm mmm!) – and Barley the ‘bridesdog’. You will spy a few brollies amongst Helen Cawte‘s captures, but word from the wedded wise: don’t allow yourself to fixate on things which are out of your control. Bride Kate spent months worrying about the weather, and had more than ten forecast apps on her phone, but, with hindsight, she wishes she hadn’t spent so long worrying about the weather as there was nothing she could do – and she hardly noticed the odd shower. Plus, the white bridal brollies look rather lovely in the photos.

Floral Moon Gate Pin Image

Floral Moon Gate Wedding Décor at Calke Abbey Derbyshire and Doughnut Wall

We are utterly obsessed with this magical matrimony, which truly is romance made real. The Riding School at Calke Abbey, a National Trust property in Derbyshire, is a stunning no corkage wedding venue with high ceilings and exposed brickwork, which Megan & Kurt style superbly with soft drapery, fairylights, pretty florals and the pièce de résistance: a moon gate altar. Megan’s must have – ghost chairs – have set our hearts aflutter here at RMW (we totally get why they were top of her wishlist), and just when we thought this wedding couldn’t get any better we spy leather jackets, a doughnut wall and a glitter bar. Do not miss groom Kurt with a sparkly blue beard!

Maddie & Jacob

Oh my how you will LOVE this detail. The Bride’s Mum is a wonderful florist, and has literally taken this wedding to the next level. The Bride, Maddie, Madeleine, wears Madeleine Roses in her bouquet, already lovely enough right? Well, they were from her mothers garden that had been given to her by her Midwife when Maddie was born. Gold! I mean how bloody lovely is that!!

This Tipi Wedding at the Brides family home in Cumbria is a prime example of how the Great British weather can try to ruin your day. It shows exactly how with good friends and family your day will still be wonderful even with rain, or thunder and lightning as this couple experienced.

Lot’s of pale, dusky pink, white and mocha flowers, handwritten details, festoon lights and of course rain! The beautiful Bride wears Essence of Australia from Angelica Bridal and her handsome Groom wears an olive Next suit and Tan Office Shoes. Photography is by the fabulous Claire Fleck who brought us the prop’tastic wedding of Lauren & Finlay.

You may recognise lovely Bride Kerry from her post about having a Best Woman (if you missed, it check it out here). Today we’re sharing her and Matt’s rainy festival wedding, complete with silent disco, an Italian feast and some of the most mouth-watering homemade cakes I’ve ever seen.

Despite the rain, they partied hard Glasto style, with Kerry rocking a pair of boots and her bridesmaids looking totally festival ready in white dresses. Images come from Jesus Cabellero who shoots all over Europe, if you’d like to book him for your own big day.
