This Bodleian Library wedding in Oxford is the perfect combination of contemporary and traditional. Incorporating many new, fun elements, such as a joint bride and groom wedding speech, and opting for timeless attire in the shape of bride Ali’s stunning Sassi Holford Tamara wedding dress. Images come from the lovely Lucy Davenport whose light, documentary-style tell this tale beautifully. Plus the use of trees and beautiful florals to decorate the historical space is going to knock your socks off!
This is the wedding of a farmers Daughter, at home, in a beautifully decorated Sperry tent within a stunning garden with pastel fairy tale florals. Complete with a tractor escort, roaming band and a saxophone church entrance. We can’t cope! I mean this is a jam-packed swoon fest.
Millinery Bride Georgina looks absolutely sensational in her dress by friend Sassi Holford with ivory Ostrich feathers on the veil as a nod to her profession which is just a delightful personal touch.
The florals throughout this wedding will take your breath away and just as RMW’s Charlotte O’Shea advises in our Podcast, they are reused and relocated to decorate the top table which is a wonderful way of spreading cost throughout your day and extend the enjoyment you get from your flower choices.
This morning’s wedding comes from longtime RMW favourite, Claire Penn. Claire’s photography speaks for itself – it’s always so natural, beautifully edited with a truly cohesive style (I always know a Claire wedding when I see one) and she captures the details as well as all of the emotion.
Not only that, but Claire always has the loveliest couples, whose weddings just seem so joyful, as well as being fabulously stylish of course. Catherine and Daniel’s big day is no exception, with both looking gorgeous in British designers, as well as lots of lovely details and an abundance of stunning wild flowers, it’s a real feast for the eyes. Enjoy everyone, I think you’re going to love it!
The beady eyed readers among you will recognise today’s gorgeous bride – it’s our lovely Vicky, who has been sharing her planning journey with you over the last few months. Vicky and Oli’s big day sounded epic from the plans and I think we can truly say it’s lived up to all expectations, with gorgeous details, amazing fashion choices and lots and lots of fun had by all. In fact, it’s rare that I ever see a wedding match the original vision as much as this one! Excellent job on the styling front by Vicky.
Katherine Ashdown has captured the day beautifully, as always, and we have the stunning film from Browns Films to enjoy too. Settle down with a cuppa for this one, it’s just brimming with lovely ideas and Vicky and Oli look so happy! It’s been a pleasure to share their journey with you all, congratulations Mr & Mrs Barnes!
I honestly don’t know what to talk about first – my eyes are having an absolute frenzy at all the deliciousness of this Buckland Tout-Saints wedding in South Devon.
I’ll start with the fabulous Bridesmaid outfit made up of a blush pink tulle skirt from Needle & Thread and a silk blouse from Pinko. So fashion forward, but so elegant and timeless at the same time. Then there’s Sally’s gorgeous Sassi Holdford gown, which has one of the prettiest lace backs and cap sleeves I ever did see. She looks absolutely stunning. I’ll definitely be pinning the beautiful picture captured by Matt Penberthy of the two ladies together.
Now on to the deep, dark, sultry and very sexy blooms. Absolutely amazing use of colours and textures from Laura Hingston flowers that really bring this classic wedding to life. Add some slate name place settings, an ice cream cart and you have yourself one elegant and very inspiring manor house wedding to pour over this afternoon.
Sarah and George are a very funny pair. Their witty write up of the day had me giggling, it’s very dry and actually quite a refreshing read if you’re caught up in uptight wedding planning hell right now. As you’d imagine then, their wedding day looked like a riot – a huge party in a marquee at Sarah’s parents house filled with family and friends.
Deborah Grace, the couple’s photographer, is our new crush and if you’re a die hard RMW fan then you’ll have noticed Sarah & George’s engagement shoot this morning. Today is basically Deborah appreciation day so if you like her work then give her a shout! Enjoy this one lovelies, I promise it will put a smile on your faces…
How do you have a gorgeous wedding on a budget?
Well, Lucy and Joel are going to show you how. Their big day was planned in just three short months and they kept to a very strict budget, calling in favours and making compromises when needed. It just goes to show what a wedding is all about; marrying the love of your life, followed by a big old knees up with your loved ones.
The only thing which we ever really recommend investing in, is a photographer whose style you love. The images will be the lasting memory of your day, and these ones captured by Imogen Xiana are truly beautiful. You’d never know that the wedding was planned in such a short time scale or that less money had spent on it than another because the images simply capture what a lovely time everyone is having.
Enjoy this one and for anyone planning a village hall wedding, this is great inspiration!
We are very excited to be sharing an exclusive first look at the new Sassi Holford Twenty17 collection with you today. Sassi’s gowns are truly beautiful and a very poignant collection for the designer. Mixing stunning silhouettes and high fashion pieces the collection is full of the prettiest shades and most wonderful fabrics.
This morning we’re off to the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside to the lovely Dodford Manor to take a peek at the springtime wedding day of Jo and Andy. This gorgeous pair opted for a classic and very chic colour palette of off-white and navy for their wedding day carefully accessorised with creamy white blooms – perfect for the time of year.
