The saying goes “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” And what better “something blue” than your best girls; In gorgeous halterneck dresses I might add. I love that these beautiful ladies carried hoop bouquets rather than traditional posies, and the portraits of them walking through the fields are just adorable. As is the whole of this teepee outdoor wedding at the bride’s parents farm.
Gone are the days of the bog standard PVC marquee wedding. Today’s brides have a myriad of super stylish choices laid before them. Canvas marquees, bell tents, tipis (we have an excellent post full of tipi tips from World Inspired Tents here), yurts, Sperry tents and clear span frame marquees are the main contenders. Although, creative variations are always popping up (ahem). You may be considering a traditional venue with a permanent or hire marquee as part of your wedding package. Or you may be going the whole hog and planning a tent wedding on your own land or land you’ve hired. Either way, this post is LOADED with inspirational images to get those creative ideas flowing. With a marquee or tent wedding, you will truly have the perfect blank canvas. And about halfway through the post, you’ll also find a list of 5 ways to use tents, teepees or marquees on your wedding day to give you some ideas.
A Bank Holiday Extravaganza with a ceremony in the Long Gallery at Haddon Hall, Derbyshire followed with a reception with Peaktipis at Shiningford Farm.
Heidi and Ed first met aged six, each on family holidays in Turkey and held hands for the duration of their two-week trips. This was only discovered beyond some years living together, after falling in love at University, where they thought they had met and getting engaged. Did someone say destiny? You may have actually clapped eyes on this stunning couple as their lovely ‘meant to be’ story went viral.
RMW The List members Kemp & Kemp are in the kitchen again for this wedding and the menu sounds delish! A boogie on the dance floor followed by fish finger sandwiches – dream team.
Heidi looks absolutely sensational in a Hayley Paige number and both Derbyshire venues shine. S6 Photography has really captured something special here.
Some weddings are just made for RMW and the team and I have been swooning over this one for months and are so happy to finally have it gracing our pages.
If you follow us on Instagram then you may have noticed that over the weekend we shared some images from some of our favourite tent, tipi and marquee suppliers. Having your wedding reception in one of these glorious structures is proving more and more popular as the flexibility and creativity you can unleash is unrivalled. Even more so if you’re lucky enough to bag some land on which to set up your party. (Exhaust those family and friend connections, it’s always worth a try).
So, if you’re lusting after a festival style wedding but aren’t sure where to start, here’s our guide to choosing the best tent for your wedding celebrations…
OMG this wedding! It ticks all of the boxes on my list of things I love at a wedding. Gorgeous dress, outdoor ceremony, amazing florals, a big old party in a tipi AND stunning photography. I lost count of the amount of times an image from Lucy Little made me do a little gasp. For starters there’s the image above of Jayne just looking SO happy and beautiful, which is exactly how every Bride should feel on her wedding day. Then there’s the image of Jayne giving her Dad a huge hug. And then the image of her and Bobby walking along in the sunset…
You need to savour each and every one. Oh and Jayne’s hair?! Serious hair envy going on at RMW HQ!
I’ll let you enjoy it, but please don’t read the text if you haven’t already eaten, as the food sounds utterly delicious and will make you want to do so immediately – you have been warned…
“If you have good wine, good food and good music – it’s your guests that will make the party! All the rest is details!” Said our fabulously laid back boho Bride in a stunning Charlie Brear wedding dress and flower crown *sigh*
Even though the relaxed ethos of this fabulous wedding is SO apparant, the details and choices Joanna & Paul made are stunning! Opting to have an outdoor blessing in a field, with a beautiful tree drapped in chiffon as their focal point and altar.
Celebrations continued in the open field with a beautifully decorated Tipi reception full of white blooms, hanging lanterns and giant balloons, not to mention all the space hoppers to entertain the kiddies and a cheeky late night game of piggy in the middle with a rugby ball….
This is a real family affair with everybody pitching in to help create the perfect country celebration.
The gorgeously decorated rustic tipi full of homemade DIY chalkboard signs, bunting & and more stood in the open field of their friends farm, a simply breathtaking location for a breathtaking wedding. The surrounding estate was used to pitch tents for the guests so they could stay over, they called it the wedding village – so adorable!
Even more adorable are the ladies gowns. Beth’s spaghetti strap wedding dress with giant bow & full skirt looks amazing on her and she topped off her look perfectly with the cutest flower crown. But the bridesmaid dresses, well…. they are just the most gorgeous shade of blue and each one is different to flatter the ladies & suit their personalities.
There is literally still so much more to marvel at, swoon over and pin, so I’d better leave you to it, you’re going to LOVE it!
I can practically smell the lavender. Lucy’s wonderfully embellished gown (they are some of the best capped sleeves I have ever seen) and perfect beachy waves are so lush. It also turns out that she, and her family, are super clever. They arranged all of the flowers themselves. Yep. That stunning bouquet? She put it together herself. How flippin’ epic is that?
If you missed the absolutely fantastic Sunshine On A Rainy Day wedding we posted last week then you missed out.
So go see it now because let me tell you – it was a complete stunner.
And what I hear you ask have we got in store for you now?
It is beautiful.
Truly truly knock your socks off BEAUTIFUL.
So if your day is more than a little bit rubbish this little piece of screen magic is sure to make you fell a whole lot happier.
