Woodland Wedding

Lisa & Mark

Just as the leaves have dropped, the air is crisp and the light is dappled, the gorgeous Lisa & Mark had a wild and wonderful woodland wedding at Fernie Castle in Cupar, Scotland at the height of Autumn magic.

The ceremony was dressed beautifully with DIY ribbon chandeliers, hay bale seats draped in moroccan rugs, and an altar full of florals. Lisa looked absolutely stunning walking down the aisle in a spaghetti strap, Chantilly lace Enzoani gown and Richard Designs veil from the bridal boutique she works at Kudos Bridal. And standing their proud as punch was her groom Mark in a traditional tartan kilt and tween jacket. They included a hand fastening at their ceremony as well as many other spiritual/pagan elements and it all just oozed sentiment.

Capturing all the wonderful moments was the fabulous Maureen Du Preez, who Lisa found on Rock My Wedding. Together they are a match made in heaven, and we’ve loved being able to share this Autumnal wedding.

If you decide you love Maureen’s photography style just as much as Lisa, then check out these gorgeous weddings she’s captured too.

Talk about a seriously fun festival wedding.

The relaxed vibes of the humanist, woodland ceremony and marquee reception is so apparent from all the wonderful captures by Miss Gen photography you actually feel like you are there celebrating with this amazing couple and their friends and family.

And what an entourage of favourite people they have. The wedding party snaps are seriously cool, mainly due to those epic red bridesmaid dresses and flowers crowns, not to mention the brides Reformation gown, and the grooms In Tweed suit.

Add hanging foliage garlands and bauble decor, plus a delicious semi naked wedding cake, and you have the makings of an immense summer wedding to swoon over. Enjoy.

Adelen & Alex

Be prepared for your jaw to hit the floor when you see real bride Adelen’s backless ‘Lenora’ Watters Wtoo bridal gown. It is literally breathtaking and suits her down to the ground. The delicate lace fabric amongst the natural woodland location in Oslo, Norway brings a lovely relaxed bohemian vibe to the wedding and couldn’t be more prefect.

The oh so brilliant Through The Woods We Ran photography worked their magic in capturing the picturesque setting and dreamy moments, fun and laughter, so make sure you are sitting comfortably, because believe me you’re going to want to savour every minute.

After that if you’re yearning for more, we highly recommending checking out the rest of Through The Woods We Ran portfolio on RMW. Enjoy.

Giulia & Pier

WOW. You are not going to know what to look at first. Le Jour du Oui has planned and styled the most beautiful boho wedding amongst the woodland of Convento dell’Annunciata in Italy.

The long trestle reception table is full of pretty, including bright floral arrangements, decorative charger plates, and stunning menu cards. But all the detail doesn’t end there, there’s also an immense escort card seating chart propped up against tree, a hanging flower head curtain backdrop and the cutest personalised tote bag wedding favours. Lets not forget bride and groom Giulia and Pier too, who are an absolute vision of elegance amongst the natural setting.

Honestly your pinning fingers are not going to know what’s hit them when you see all these stunning images by Infraordinario.

Dani & Jason

I imagine this woodland wedding at The Dreys in Kent is a far cry from how the Royal wedding between Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle will look today, but what I’m certain both will have in common is undeniable style and love oozing out of them.

Have you seen bride Dani’s Grace Loves Lace bridal gown? She looks an absolute vision. The geometric pattern and open back is to die for, as is the outdoor ceremony with Persian rugs and bunting decor. You can just tell a whole lot love and hard work has been poured into making this a day to remember.

As well as their keen eye for detail Dani and Jason didn’t loose sight of their guests enjoyment, throwing them one hell of a festival themed celebration with live music, late night pizza and a cheese tower wedding cake.

Capturing all the magic as it unfolded was the lovely Fern Edwards, who fully embraced the couples desire to have smoke bomb portraits and the results are epic.

Alix & Andy

If you’re looking for something to take the sting off returning to work after the Easter bank holiday THIS incredibly stylish woodland wedding is it!

Bride & Groom, Alix and Andy include all the current wedding trends, with Persian rugs, perspex signs, geometric Edison lights, five food trucks and SO much more. Not only is it all PIN-tastic, they’ve made sure they listed all of their suppliers for you too. After you’ve written down your favourites from here, make sure you check out our wedding supplier directory ‘The List’ for similar suppliers in your area too.

Fabulous photographer, Clara Cooper Photography nearly declined this wedding due to it taking place on her birthday day, but she (and us) are so glad she didn’t as it was every bit the riot she was expecting, and her captures are utterly immense.

There’s not many bridal parties that look as fierce as these dear folk. With bespoke burgundy suits, gold sequin gowns and not one but two exquisite bridal gowns for our gorgeous bride.

Now are you ready to have your socks knocked off..? Thought so.

Sylvia & Pete

We absolutely love it when a bride and groom pour their absolute heart and soul into their wedding, and it’s so apparent Sylvia & Pete did exactly that for their woodland wedding in South Wales.

With an army of their nearest and dearest they created and decorated a dream DIY day, perfectly paying homeage to the Brides Italian heritage, and their proposal location with anti pasti starters, pizzas and ice-cream, not to mention the homebaked Ferrero Roche wedding cake and Limoncello favours.

Every detail has a sentimental story behind it, so make sure once you’ve pored over (and pinned) all the amazing captures by Cat Beardsley you make notes of all the how-to’s too.

Happy Easter Monday everyone 🙂

Francesca & George

If you go down to the woods today you’re going to be in for a treat and half at Francesca & George’s beautiful boho wedding at Two Woods Estate in Sussex.

There’s wild flowers from Daisy Ellen, moroccan rugs, peacock chairs and so much more from The Vintage House That Could to add to their DIY decor. Not forgetting pizza’s from Baz and Fred, plus giant Jenga, hula hooping and generally what looks like the ultimate wedding celebration.

Every photograph captured by PJ Phillips Photography perfectly radiates the relaxed, warm and inviting atmosphere, and all the love and heartfelt moments this couple shared with their nearest and dearest.

Can I also just say ALL the heat eyes for Francesca’s bespoke gown which she had made near her home town in Italy and totally rocks!

Lol & Johno

Get ready for a sunny coastal wedding in South Africa that exudes love & happiness, and an abundance of style.

Both the decor and fashion were minimal, but oh my did they have maximum impact. Bride Lol’s bespoke backless gown in particular is the epitome of chic and proves the statement ‘less is more’ sometimes couldn’t be more appropriate. The bridesmaids looked just as elegant in their white gowns, with their bouquets of foliage popping against the crisp hue.

Starting with a gorgeous woodland ceremony with a fabulous geometric altar framing this wonderful couple as they say their vows and culminating in what looks like ‘the most’ beautiful and fun reception EVER in a glass marquee, with all the emotion captured perfectly by Michigan Behn Photography.
