Inspiration

This adorable family unit have completely stolen my heart today. From the gorgeous getting ready portraits with mother and daughter to the family portraits with the groom throwing the baby girl in the air. There's also a wonderful tale told by their ten-year-old son. All the heartfelt moments have been captured beautifully by Carla Blain. Plus our fabulously inked tattooed bride and groom increasing the heat and style stakes tenfold with their fashion choices and seriously hot portraits.

Wedding Suppliers

We married over 2 hours from where we lived so we used a mixture of the recommended suppliers from the venue & also used some from our home town that we trusted to do the perfect job. We searched high & low for the perfect photographer & couldn’t find any in the Northeast nor our little town of Dumfries so we began to look online & that’s when we found, & fell in love with Carla Blain's photography. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Being a Scottish bride getting married across the border was one thing that saddened me, especially the thought of having no traditional bagpipes to walk down the aisle to. My parents very kindly arranged one as a last-minute surprise for us and it really did make all the difference. We also wrote our own short personal promise to use during our ceremony and used our favourite City & Colour song as our first dance

Zoey & Dan

Tattooed Bride

Real bride, Zoey has chosen a gown that shows off her ink beautifully. The sweetheart neckline echos the curves in the heart and wing design on her chest and the sleeveless element ensures her arms are on full display too. We think it's so important to feel like the best version of yourself on your wedding day, whether that's wearing your hair up/down, choosing a coloured wedding dress or having all your tattoos proudly on display. Just be you, and the love will shine through.

Inspiration & Styling

Laid back & intimate. The venue's style itself was so suited to us already so luckily we didn’t have to do much styling. We had less than 50 guests which meant we got to spend time with each & every one of them on the day which was lovely. Our 10 year old son also announced to all our guests that his mum & stepdad (bride & groom) were expecting another little baby in the summer! What a wonderful memory for us all.

Zoey & Dan
Due to unforeseen circumstances the week before Zoey and Dan's big day they didn’t have enough time to complete some of the last-minute finishing touches, which resulted in them not having a table plan or name cards on the tables. Not one guest picked up on these details being missing, and it didn't have any negative impact on the merriment of the day, proving if things don't quite go according to plan it's ok. We've pooled together some tips for planning for potential mishaps so you can make a plan B if you like.
