What Made Our Day Unique
Our wedding was so wonderfully personal! The whole day was very DIY and we loved the freedom to be able to design so many elements and include so many of our loved ones in the day. We had close friends, neighbours and family involved at every stage in both the setup and providing food and entertainment throughout the day. We had so many personal touches from guests including a perfectly timed surprise reading during the ceremony and unexpected, hilarious additions to the speeches that reminded us at every point how lucky we are to have all of our favourite people there celebrating our marriage.
Tent Wedding
Having a tent wedding at home can most definitely be a labour of love, and to quote Rhona & Dave "is not for the faint-hearted!" They organised everything themselves using spreadsheet after spreadsheet to keep all of their supplier information in one place. One piece of genius advice they offer future couples is to have a separate email address so you don't have to cypher through your regular inbox. We also have a Podcast including everything you need to know about hosting your own wedding. It may be a little hard work, but worth every second of your time if the results of this special day are anything to go by.Inspiration & Styling
We went for a relaxed garden party vibe. We unknowingly chose the same date as Glastonbury so we set up our own Mini-Glasto with a pizza van, overnight camping and festival flags! We used Pinterest a lot through the process and the styling was mainly based around what would compliment the space and seasonal colours of the gardens that my family home provided. The marquee was perfect for the back garden, neatly nestled in between the trees. We had the sides open which allowed people to make the most of the games and chill out areas whilst the Jazz band set the perfect atmosphere. The interior of the marquee featured greenery to bring the garden indoors and trestle tables to get people mingling and sharing the afternoon tea.
