The Best Wedding Gift Ideas for Grooms

If you’re looking for ideas for presents for your Groom on your wedding morning, why not give some of these ideas a try. We’ve included fun twists on tried and tested presents and hopefully something that might inspire you to do something a little different…

There are presents for all budgets and even ideas for anyone who thinks the endless gifts you are supposed to buy for the wedding party are totally ludicrous…

Some of these would make great Christmas presents too!

The Hip Flask

Every man needs a hip flask filled with his favourite hard liquor on the morning his wedding. You get to relax with your Maids sipping champers – so why not make sure he’s got a little something to settle the nerves too? I love this personalised, leather bound flask from Hord at Etsy. And if your boy is a whisky drinker, why not give him a bottle of this too – it’s my boys current whisky of choice.

The Cuff Links

Probably something your Groom has forgotten he needs – this pair can be personalised and the moustache shape is such fun. FEIN FEIN at Etsy do lots of other shapes too, so you can make sure that even his cufflinks match your decor.

The Passport Cover

If you’re jetting off on honeymoon straight after the wedding, why not give your Groom one of these fabulous Harris tweed passport covers? The perfect accessory for a dapper gent and it’ll help him keep his travel documents organised. (Which will probably make your life easier). I love these so much I’m quite tempted to buy one for myself…

The Love Letter

As we know, the most important part of a wedding is the ACTUAL getting married part – so if you feel that buying your Groom a gift is just totally unnecessary, then why not write him a heartfelt message in one of these lovely cards from Emma Moore?

Pulling Out All Of The Stops

If you want to give your Groom a real day to remember (as if getting married to you wasn’t enough!) then why not buy him an experience? Our lovely Becky wishes that she had sent her husband on a flying lesson on the morning of their wedding – if your boy secretly wishes he was a pilot, this would be an AWESOME thing to do. You could also buy him a morning at a racing track – there’s nothing like letting him tear around a track at 150mph to put a smile on his face!

And if the thought of this happening on the morning of your wedding makes you very nervous – he can always do it a few weeks later!

Lingerie

Let’s be honest here – the ‘wedding night’ isn’t really what it used to be.

Most couples live together before they get married and often chose to party into the small hours on their wedding day with their friends and family, rather than retiring at midnight with a coy look on their faces…

Plus, depending on the style of your dress, it’s actually quite unlikely that you’ll be wearing come-and-get-me-boys underwear beneath it for an entire day!!

So why not give him a preview of what’s to come on the honeymoon? Find some gorgeous lingerie (the glamorous ensembles above are from La Perla), wrap the pieces up in lace and put them in a black box tied up with ribbon. Add a ‘for-your-eyes-only’ tag and there you have it – the perfect gift to get your Groom SERIOUSLY excited for your honeymoon.

The Personalised Print

These prints from The Drifting Bear Co. can be personalised with whatever words you would like. Perhaps there’s a particularly meaningful quote you both love, or even song lyrics to your first dance – these make lovely presents and you’ll be able to display it proudly in your home forever more.

Breakfast

Now your Groom might be totally domesticated, or he may be staying in a hotel (or at his Mum’s) the night before the wedding. But, if he’s not and if he’s anything like mine – i.e. if food isn’t presented on a plate in front of him, he actually won’t eat – then consider buying him and the boys a breakfast hamper.

Try a farm shop local to your venue, they often do the most amazing hampers filled with free range farm eggs, sausages, bacon and homemade bread. If this isn’t an option, why not put one together yourself? You might need to rope in the best man to keep it as a surprise…but I can imagine this would do down very well on the morning of the wedding. They do say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach after all!

So will you be treating your Groom to something special on the morning of your wedding? Have you got any great gifts ideas you can share?

Do let us know in the comments box below!

Lots of love,

Fern x

  1. I wish I’d seen this before my wedding last June. I had had such a hard time finding my man an appropriate present, looked high and low. But, I was very pleased with what I found in the end. I managed to get a lovely pair of silver sailing boat cuff-links (he’s an avid sailor) in an engraved box – engraved with our wedding date. He got me a beautiful pair of delicate pearl earnings to wear on the day.

Such a great list of ideas here. Wish I’d though of the hip flask too, though it turned out the best man did!

    1. They sound lovely Helen, cufflinks are a timeless present, and there is so much choice available now too!

And the earrings he got you sound so pretty – you’ve got a man with good taste there 🙂

  2. Hi Fern,
What a great post and some lovely ideas!
We got married in September and I got my Hubby a love letter and a watch with an electric blue face (which was our wedding colour) and told him I thought he needed a ‘something blue’ too…
He loved it and hasn’t stopped wearing it since the Wedding, I had it engraved on the fastener as well, it was lots of fun to choose!
I was given a single red rose and a necklace in a love heart shape with a diamond inside on the morning of the wedding – the most beautiful and thoughtful present EVER (second only to my engagement ring which he’d picked himself)- bless him 🙂 x

    1. Hi Kate,

Aw thanks – hopefully the post and peoples lovely suggestions will help future Brides find lovely gifts 🙂

I love the idea of you giving him something blue too!

And again, what a thoughtful present from your Hubby, he obviously has good taste!

  3. I got my husband a gorgeous leather overnight bag because, whenever we visited my parents (or anywhere really!) he never had a proper bag and ended up squeezing valuable space out of mine! I also did a very tasteful fine art boudoir shoot, so I wrapped up the photos and put them inside the bag. Needless to say, he loved the lot!

    1. Haha Leigh – my Mother in Law bought us suitcases last Christmas as Matt would always insist that we shared!!

It used to drive me mad!!

What a great idea, hadn’t thought about a boudoir shoot – what was your experience of this? I can imagine you’d have to find a really great photographer who you got on well with!

  4. I wrote a song for my future husband. Had it engraved on a glass card from Elite Glass Cards. It’s beautiful. He absoulutely loves it. We have it displayed next to our wedding pics in our family room. Also had Elite Glass cards engrave a card for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Great company
