Our favourite thing about featuring so many real weddings is that you get to see real women wearing wedding dresses – it’s all very well scouring Pinterest and your favourite designers websites to find your dream dress, but sometimes you need to see your gown on an actual Bride, not a model!!
As you may know, we have a selection of favourite Bridal designers whose collections we showcase on Rock My Wedding regularly and although we often feature real Brides wearing their designs, we thought we would ask them to pick out Brides whose dresses/looks really stood out to them as being particularly special. You can see their choices in the post and the range of styles, fabrics and shapes reminds me exactly why we love these designers so much! ALL of the Brides look so beautiful, comfortable and happy.
And if you missed our Guide To Choosing Your Wedding Dress post, I’ve included the download again in this post for you – it’s full of helpful hints and tips from the lovely designers to guide you through finding your dream dress.
Keri had always dreamed of getting married in France having spent all her childhood holidays in Provence and having lived in Aix-en-Provence for a while. Groom Mark was also sold on the idea of a sun-filled, holiday-style wedding where people could really relax, let their hair down and enjoy the whole event rather than just one afternoon. Keri worked with Suzanne Neville to design a bespoke dress which was an amalgamation of a few of her dresses. You can see the whole wedding on the French Wedding Style blog.
Victoria wore ‘Leading Lady’ by Suzanne Neville and says ‘The Leading Lady dress was simply perfect for our black tie New Year’s Eve wedding. It was unique, elegant and timeless – the dress of a lifetime.’
Becca visited Naomi Neoh stockist Bridal House of Cornwall and looked stunning in the ‘Ava’ dress – perfect for the couples Cornwall wedding. Becca transformed the ‘Ava’ dress with two different looks for day to night. Firstly she wore our ‘Gardner’ wrap jacket for a more traditional, romantic look for the ceremony and then removed the lace jacket and added the ‘Marlene’ belt, transforming the dress to a more glamorous look for the evening.
Our beautiful bride Jamie made the perfect choice of our ‘Heidi’ dress for her elegant wedding in Switzerland. Jamie opted for a slightly longer train on her dress with the addition of our ‘Marlene’ belt added at the waist to add a touch of sparkle. Her silk tulle single layer veil perfectly complimented the dress enabling you to see the low back of the dress and delicate guipure lace straps. We loved the colour choice of the bridesmaid dresses which enhanced the soft peach tones of Jamie’s ‘Heidi’ dress.
The Everdina is a glamorous yet romantic ballgown with a feminine soft tulle overlay decorated in hand beaded lace. Crafted from taffeta metal & metallic beaded lace, it comes in three colour combinations, honey/metallic, ivory/metallic and ivory/ivory.
The Monet is an elegant A-line gown with a draped portrait neckline and draped bodice that finishes with a flattering asymmetric waist. The left hip is decorated with flowers featuring pearl-clustered centres that cascade into the front and back of the skirt. The bubble hem completes the clean look. Made from silk dupion, Monet comes in ivory, taupe or white.
The Antoinette is full of soft but dramatic detailing, this gown has dreamily draped tulle featuring ribbon bows and a sequinned underskirt. The strapless sweetheart bodice is adorned with hand beaded lace motifs and the tulle wrap with bow tie is the perfect accessory for the ultimate romantic look. Made from shan silk & tulle, it comes in gold with gold beading, ivory with gold beading and ivory with clear beading.
Amy & Matthew’s big day was featured on Rock My Wedding. The entire wedding is beautiful and we love the colour mix Amy chose for her bridesmaids. The girls really showed their individuality in the way the dresses were tied and we love how Amy made her Maid of Honour stand out using one of our brooches. (You can see more Twobirds dresses here on Rock My Wedding).
Charlotte in Charlotte: I adore everything about this gorgeous shot! Charlotte looks amazing in the ‘Charlotte’ gown, it was the perfect dress and looks gorgeous. I love the way this image has captured the moment and each member of the wedding party and the car is just too cute!
Clare in Iscoyd Park: Clare looks so pretty and feminine in the ‘Iscoyd Park’ gown, the soft antique Gold shade is so perfect for Clare. I also love the light in this shot, so dreamy and romantic.
Stephanie in Lillie Mae: I just love a confetti shot, they are always my favourite! That 1st glimpse of the new married couple sharing their special moment with all their family and friends is just so lovely. Stephanie looks amazing too.
Katie & Arran – Yay we did it! that’s what this image says and it’s captured the moment perfectly. Katie looks so pretty and glam in her Amanda Wyatt gown styled with the soft lace reverse bolero. Suzanne in Lupin – The ‘Lupin’ gown fits Suzanne to perfection, it’s absolutely perfect and the veil finish’s the look. That kiss is some kiss too! Nicola in Hyacinth – A true modern day princess bride, Nicola looks every inch the perfect fairytale bride in the dreamy ‘Hyacinth’ gown.
Harriet wore ‘Songbird’ – an elegant silk crepe dress with a beautiful French lace bodice, illusion neckline and buttons that ran all the way down to the end of the puddle train on the gown. She looked absolutely stunning and, most importantly, happy and comfortable in her gown – the embodiment of a Stewart Parvin bride.
Sam looked utterly beautiful in ‘Luck Be a Lady’; a dupion silk gown with a drop waisted ruched bodice and a full circle skirt. Sam wore a corded lace shrug with three quarter length sleeves creating an elegant illusion neckline. She looked so glamorous, both the wedding and choice of gown provided the perfect balance of tradition and a twist of the modern.
Bride Jess – It was a dream to make the sexy open back Elise dress in this delicate aqua hue for the lovely vivacious Jess. Full of fun and far from being a conventional bride, Jess was clear about the colour of her dress from the start and we were over the moon when we found the perfect colour in a gorgeous French lace design.
Bride Alysha – Alysha is our most romantic bride ever, travelling from far away to our studio for fittings of the delicate Edwardian lace Carly dress. We found a rare and beautiful antique veil for Alysha, which although at least 100 years older looked like it had been made for the dress and created an ethereal and magical look for her lakeside wedding in Ontario.
Bride Noorin – We think Noorin looks like an exotic princess in her Isadora dress. Designer of her own ethical fashion brand Outsider, she was drawn to the use of vintage fabrics on the Isadora dress as well as the creative cutting and relaxed vibe for her family focused country wedding.
