Inspiration

Amy and Kevin's wedding was a gorgeous minimal affair at The Ravenswood in West Sussex with some beautiful touches. Amy is originally from New Zeland and met Kevin, a French singer in London. Kevin was one of the X-Factor finalists in 2017 (known as Kevin Davy White), and their love story was shown during the X-Factor as Amy was constantly there supporting him throughout the whole series. Their intimate wedding was a mix of both cultures, with the ceremony readings being conducted in both English and French and all the decor and details reflecting the couple, their passions and their incredible sense of style!

What Made Our Day Unique

Our day was made even more special by the fact we were bringing together our favourite people from all over the world, many of whom had never met before! I am from New Zealand, Kevin is from France and we live together in London. We wanted to celebrate our love in a gorgeous British setting, blending our French, African and Kiwi heritage. Kevin is a professional musician, so we knew music would play a big part. I think we spent more time on the soundtrack to our wedding than anything else!

The Ravenswood

Amy and Kevin chose to say I do outside at The Ravenswood's little castle. Its stone walls side windows and stunning opening make the perfect altar and backdrop for the romantic nuptials said in both English and French to represent both of the couple's heritage. The image captured by Paul and Nanda of them holding hands walking down the steps in their stylish halterneck wedding dress, velvet jacket and fedora hat is my absolute favourite. Oh, and the one where Amy leaps into Kevin's arms in celebration at the bottom. What a precious moment of pure joy.

Inspiration & Styling

Our vibe was really just all about bringing together all of our favourite people, and celebrating love! West Sussex proved to be a stunning backdrop to our venue, so we kept the styling to a minimum. We had greenery, pampas grass and some dark burgundy dahlias for the florals, and bud flowers for the tables. Our venue was a 15th Century Manor Hotel, which had so much character I felt that too much styling would have only competed with its original beauty.

Advice

It's really useful to decide early on with your partner, what are the most important factors for you both on your day. It can easily get overwhelming, but having clarity on this, means you know where to focus your energy and maintain what is truly important to you both. If you do have the luxury of time, I would advise to get planning early on and decide on all the detail so that in the lead up to the day you can really enjoy spending time with your partner, family and friends!
