This stunning Elizabethan manor house lies in the heart of the Somerset countryside and has been in Alice’s family for 500 years. Surrounded by ancient oak trees, beautiful rose covered walls and gardens there are so many possibilities for your wedding day. A traditional pole marquee or Tipi sit perfectly in the Round Garden alongside the wonderfully rustic Potting Shed. This is a really quirky and versatile space which has a bar and is full of festoon lights, sofas and rugs. Whether it’s boho bliss or traditional romance, you’ll find it here at Midelney!

When we embarked on our journey to get married we had no idea of how Midelney Manor and the Acton family would add to our incredible day in every way. Quite simply they made it magical. Midelney Manor is the perfect setting for an English Country wedding combining the timeless elegance of the Manor itself with the fun and “can do” attitude of Alice, who simply could not do enough to ensure the day went so perfectly. The marquee was splendid, the food sublime ,they have it down to a fine art. We cannot recommend this venue highly enough if anyone is thinking of a place to get married at look no further, our only criticism is that now being happily married we can’t do it again!!

Midelney Manor is enchanting. The beautiful house with really lovely grounds made for a truly wonderful wedding amid the tranquillity of the Somerset Levels. Six months on we are still getting comments from friends and family on how it was the most perfect setting for a wedding. Alice could not have been kinder, more thoughtful or more helpful and her recommended caterers were genuinely brilliant. She made the whole process entirely stress free for us. We had the best day and would recommend it to anyone.

We had our wedding party at Midelney Manor on a lovely autumn afternoon and evening, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting, or more perfectly organised by Alice Acton. After a blessing in the marquee, we had drinks in the walled garden as the sun set with the Manor as a backdrop. An excellent dinner followed back in the marquee cooked by caterers supplied by Alice, and then dancing. The marquee had been beautifully decorated and it was a wonderful, happy evening, most especially for the two of us. That it worked so well was due to the lovely location, the house and the garden, and most especially due to Alice’s fantastic organisation, which meant that there was not a single hitch or hiccup either before or during the party.
