The Normans is one of the most exciting and unique venues in the North of England. Contemporary design is juxtaposed with the traditional architectural features of the Yorkshire farm in which the venue is situated. At the heart of The Normans lies a beautiful south-facing Courtyard, complete with water feature, manicured lawns, stylish seating, and a large awning (just in case the weather turns!). Looking onto the Courtyard is the stunning Ceremony Barn, set in a traditional 18th Century farm building and imbued with cascading fairylights. There’s also the Cow Stalls, which have been converted into a rustic snug area, and a ‘marquee’ that has been integrated into a large grain shed – a spectacular setting for guests to drink, dine and dance the night away.

Although we didn’t really know what we were looking for in a wedding venue, Oliver and Laura blew us away with The Normans. The way The Normans team worked on the day was fantastic; the venue wowed everyone and we really would not change one single thing. PERFECT!
We could not have imagined a more magical setting than The Normans for our wedding: every single space, from the Courtyard to the Marquee, had something unique about it, meaning that we were able to continually surprise guests with new settings and decor throughout the day. It really was the best day of our lives!
Planning a wedding from abroad has its difficulties but we absolutely lucked out with the dream team of Laura and Oliver. We couldn’t wait for our guests to see the venue, but even we were blown away by how incredible it looked on the day. The Normans showcased the very best of Yorkshire and the finest of Yorkshire hospitality.
