Inspiration

Sandy and Tarun have just celebrated their first wedding anniversary (yesterday, in fact!), but their intimate wedding at the Old Marylebone Town Hall could have just as easily taken place today. With real bride Sandy wowing us in her tulle skirt and chiffon blouse combo and Maja Tsolo Photography reminding us how important it is to allow enough time for your couples portraits. What amazing captures, and what everlasting memories.

What Made Our Day Unique

We both feel what made our wedding day unique was that it was exactly what we wanted, fuss-free and intimate, but we still made an effort with the key aspects to make it feel special for us and our family. It was small & very intimate so it was essential for us to make it feel like a wedding. The style we were aiming was effortlessly classic so our choice of venues was essential. Marylebone Old Town Hall has such beautifully decorated rooms and by complete coincidence, our colour palette worked beautifully. We chose to have lunch at The Wolsely in their private room, which again made it feel intimate and special. The building is so beautiful and the staff made such an effort to make the room fit for a wedding and the service was impeccable. They made sure they catered to all our needs including for our nieces and nephew at the last minute. Our photographer caught all the little things we missed on the day.

Tulle Skirt

Sandy and Tarun wanted their wedding to be relaxed, intimate and fun, as well as effortlessly elegant and classic. Which they have achieved with flying colours. Although the couple didn't wear traditional wedding attire, they both look incredible in a navy lounge suit and bridal separates. We love how romantic and free-flowing Sandy's tulle skirt is. Her burgundy and blush bouquet is also a bit of a show stopper with proteas and David Austin roses complementing Tarun's tie and the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses to perfection.

Photography

After searching Instagram for various wedding photographers and making a few enquiries we hadn’t really found the right match or style that we both liked. As our wedding venue was unique (to us at least!) a random search on Google Images much later had uncovered some fantastic wedding portraits of a couple outside the venue, these photos were of Maja’s wedding she had done in the past, which then led us to her website to uncover more beautiful wedding photography collections, needless to stay the style, elegance, emotion and attention to detail had really grabbed us and after a couple of consultations with her on the phone, she was so easy to talk with. Her experience of shooting at the venue and surrounding area made the occasion feel effortless.

Advice

Think about what you both really want for the day and stick to your guns. The day is about you and your partner. It’s very easy to get wrapped in what everyone else wants. Delegate! It doesn’t matter how big or large a wedding is, there is always lots to do so make family accountable and they will feel special and included. I involved my siblings as I wanted to be present on our day. Enjoy your day as it goes by so quickly.
