Inspiration

A family-focused day on one of the hottest days of the year at the Sussex wedding venue, Upwaltham Barns. The day incorporated personal touches, homemade limoncello favours and a wooden sign lovingly made by family and rustic touches. The bride looked stunning in a Maggie Sottero wedding dress flanked by her blush bridesmaids with complementing flowers and a pinned updo. Blush and white flowers were littered throughout the day, including in the large freestanding 'LOVE' letters and on the delicious rose gold drip wedding cake! This incredible day was captured by the brilliantly talented Ali Paul Photography - who happens to be one of Rock My Wedding's recommended suppliers!

What Made Our Day Unique

Our wedding was a family affair on one of the hottest days of the year. We felt so lucky to have guests travel from all corners of the globe to celebrate with us at Upwaltham Barns. The family focussed vibe extended throughout the day from suppliers to the family run venue itself. Chris' brother, the best man, James was in charge of 'branding', putting together everything from our save the dates to table menus. Our photographer was Ali Paul, Chris’s cousin, an incredible wedding photographer who we would have chosen regardless of him being family or not!

Upwaltham Barns

Upwaltham Barns is a gorgeous rustic venue in West Sussex - the perfect place for a relaxed country wedding. The exposed brick walls, wooden beams and high ceilings provide a bright open space for ceremonies, receptions and of course all your entertainment to keep the guests dancing all night! Nikki and Chris' big day was picture perfect with everything coming together beautifully, despite Nikki organising everything whilst trying to finish med school!

Inspiration & Styling

The Barns were so beautiful that little needed adding decor wise, but the pieces we did add helped create a romantic, yet rustic vibe. We chose a blush pink colour scheme that flowed beautifully throughout both barns at the venue with stunning flowers from Kerry from Rose Cottage Flowers. My inspiration mainly came from Pinterest. I’ve had a wedding board for years, long before Chris and I even got engaged. My friends always found it hilarious, but Chris knew about it and when it came to planning the wedding it really helped bring our vision together.
