Inspiration

This vegan wedding is full to the brim of personal touches, everything was so well thought out to make the day so special! From the ceremony where friends and family sang and read poems they had written to the guests passed around the couple's wedding rings before they reached the bride and groom. And speaking of rings, wanting to make the day sustainable where they could, the couple decided to handmake their wedding bands beforehand during a workshop using recycled gold, adding that extra sentimental touch! The bride stunned in a second-hand Charlie Brear wedding dress while her bridesmaids looked pretty in grey skirts all clutching bright wildflower bouquets. For a couple who love festivals, even getting engaged at Glastonbury, there was only going to be one theme that would fit, so camping was encouraged for this relaxed, outdoors, coastal wedding with a yoga teacher and sea swimming! And all these beautiful moments from the day were captured by our handpicked supplier, Wild Tide Weddings, amazing!

What Made Our Day Unique

It was important to us to have a personal ceremony, telling our story, which Kim did brilliantly. Lucy’s mum and one of her close friends had written poems to read and the music was sung/ accompanied by close friends too. Bex sang ‘Songbird’ as Lucy walked down the aisle and Becky sung ‘Stand by Me’ as our wedding rings were passed around the guests making their way to us before we exchanged them. We read our vows together which we had wri?en one day at the beach.

Vegan Wedding

The outdoor ceremony was followed by a rustic barn dinner under a romantic canopy of fairy lights and drapes, where a vegan wedding breakfast was served to the guests. The plant-based menu was only a small part of the sustainable day, recycled products, wildflowers & homemade decor to name a few, were all eco-friendly aspects incorporated into the celebration. A day full of heart and soul - quite literally as the guests danced the evening away to the brilliant band - The Soul Strutters - who kept the dancefloor full all night!

Inspiration & Styling

We love festivals and got engaged at Glastonbury a couple of years before the wedding. We wanted to create some of the ‘feeling’ that we love of being at a festival – being outdoors, relaxed, sharing food, good music, silliness and opportunities to talk to people you don’t already know. We encouraged guests to camp with us and to join in with yoga, sea swimming, games and a hangover BBQ. The Barn is set in a such a beautiful coastal location, we had the sea as our backdrop and only really added wildflowers arranged by family and friends to complement it.

If you are a couple of festival lovers too and want some more inspiration as to how you can incorporate this into your big day (or days in this case!) then we have so much more where this came from, just take a look at this festival wedding with naked tipi! And, if you're interested in a more sustainable wedding, then head on over to Recycle for everything preloved and wedding related!
