Inspiration

Crazy golf anyone? Erm, yes please. What a fabulously unique way to entertain your guests during your wedding. That and a little bit of hook a duck and whack a rat too have certainly brought all the joy to this country wedding. Bringing all the pretty was Fairly Vinatge , who styled the lovely Farbridge wedding venue to perfection with vintage suitcases, books, step ladders and more. Each adorable moment was captured by the fabulous Meghan Lorna Photography, and will leave you feeling all fuzzy inside, not to mention completely envious when your see the bridal parties lace and sequin frocks.

Venue

Vicky the Bride: Not only did we want a venue that was beautiful inside and out, but we wanted something neutral which we could then style with props. When we looked at other venues we hated carpets, old paintings on walls, loud garish curtains and were obsessed with chairs. Farbridge was just gorgeous. It has beautiful natural stonewalls, stone floor, wooden beams and light airy rooms. We also liked the fact that everything was in one venue and we didn’t have to move from location to location. The venue had a lovely flow from ceremony to the garden to the main barn for dinner and then back into the small barn for dancing.

Photographs

We are both fashion photographers so when looking at venues we were also looking at photo opportunities. We loved that the venue was located in the South Downs and we could access fields close by. We knew we wanted photos in the long grass. We also new we wanted to set up a photo area for our family photos and at the venue had a bench by the stone wall with the south downs in the background. Perfect! Also, both being photographers, we were very picky when choosing a wedding Photographer. We met Meghan at a vintage wedding stall and not only loved her photos but her and her husband are such a lovely couple we knew we wanted them at our wedding. They were so helpful, funny and relaxed they made the photos such a fun experience.

Style

We love the whole vintage and rustic look and knew that was how we wanted to style our wedding. Again, the venue was perfect for this. I went round a few charity shops and got a few bargains for the photo area I wanted to set up. I got a floor lamp, grammar phone, records, letters, candles etc. We met Harriet from Fairly Vinatge at a wedding Fair and she made our wedding look stunning!! She was amazing in the morning getting everything set up and was so helpful. Everything from the ladder table plan, centrepieces to the drink stations were gorgeous and picture perfect.

Fun

It was important to us that the guests were entertained whilst we were off having photos taken. We hired games, crazy gold, splat a rat and hook a duck. Adult and children were playing all these throughout the day. We also had drink stations in the garden (gin stall, pimp your prosecco and a beer bath). We also had a trumpet player, Olly, playing in the garden while everyone was drinking and playing in the sun. We actually found Olly whilst he was busking in Chichester. We were doing some wedding shopping when we walked past and heard him. We then stood on the spot waiting for him to finish so we could ask him to play at our venue. We also knew we wanted a live band in the evening and Motown Gold had people up dancing all evening.

Advice from the Bride

Relax the day before your wedding. Don’t do any wedding organisation and just enjoy the build up. My parents, my bridesmaids (and their partners) and myself hired the whole bnb the night before. We all went out for dinner, had drinks and had a fun night together. We then all got up and had breakfast together the following morning. Having my best friends and my parents there helped me keep my nerves at bay in the morning!
