Inspiration

An intimate church ceremony followed by a classic wedding breakfast at the picturesque Washingborough Hall in Lincoln. After trying on over 50 dresses, the bride looked perfect in a lace Pronovias wedding dress with a low back teamed with a half up half down hairstyle beautifully framed by her bridal party in pink multiway bridesmaid dresses. Held on the hottest August bank holiday, this summer celebration was complete with a harpist and outdoor garden games. The day encapsulated the childhood sweethearts personalities and loves, with the tables named after Harry Potter and Games of Thrones houses!

What Made Our Day Unique

It was important for us to encapsulate both our personalities and upbringings without it feeling like a 'themed' wedding. Joe & I have been together for nearly 10 years and wanted to include elements from various stages of our lives - our table names were half Harry Potter and half Game of Thrones Houses which we felt was the perfect nod to 'us'. We wanted our guests to say 'that is so Joe & Jess!' throughout our day. Joe built the corn hole game to entertain our guests, which we first discovered in the Dominican Republic where we got engaged.

Washingborough Hall

The grade II listed Georgian manor house was the perfect backdrop for the couple's big day. Washingborough Hall is situated in the Lincolnshire countryside with manicured gardens and woodland. The round wedding breakfast tables were decorated in pink floral arrangements and the mint green wedding cake took centre stage in the dining room! The garden party style day (complete with a corn hole game made by the groom) was finished off with a sparkler exit for the happy newlywed couple!

Inspiratin & Styling

We wanted our day to be as relaxing and as fun as possible - with 75 day guests, we wanted everyone to have the opportunity to mingle and catch up. It was the hottest summer day in August, so had a mixture of English country house/garden party vibe with lawn games being played until early evening and party at night - our acoustic duo were so great, we had several encores. From the harpist in the church to acoustic duo at night, the music was a big part of creating the overall atmosphere for the day.
