Inspiration

If you've never seen, or even heard of a Watteau train then you're in for a treat! Real bride Keeshia wears the most stunning lace wedding dress by Recommended dress designer Made With Love Bridal with a watteau train. It trails behind her as she walks down the aisle. Billows behind her during those incredible couples portraits by Recommended photographer Abbie Sizer. And, even becomes a fun prop on the dance floor. But that's not all we love at this Foxtail Barns wedding. We're also smitten with all the colourful flowers mixed with citrus fruits, Keeshia's infectious smile, and all the fun she, Matthew and their guests had on this glorious day.

We had a fully vegan wedding, with only us as the two vegans attending! But with the fantastic caterers allowing us to make a bespoke menu, it worked out perfectly. Also not sure if this is unique or just a bit crazy, but we booked our venue off rendering photos only and the first time we saw it all together was the day of our wedding.

Watteau Train

My watteau train wedding dress was the most decisive I’ve ever been with any outfit purchase. I went with my mum to The Aisle Boutique, as they carried the designer I loved (after painstakingly researching for months). Unbeknown it was the weekend before Leeds went into lockdown so I was really grateful for that appointment, given the lead times for wedding dresses.

Styling

We both wanted a relaxed vibe on the day. Matt (kindly) let me run wild with the styling. I knew I wanted greenery at the forefront. I started with a really minimal scheme, but when I saw all the flowers and colours available in September I had to rethink. I really wanted to have a scent throughout the day, hoping it would be a nice reminder of our wedding day if we came across it again.

Keeshia and Matthew's florist moved their 7ft foliage arrangement from their ceremony to their reception.

If you have a vision of how you want your day to be, go with it fully... It is your day after all! Write a list of all your “must-haves/no compromises” it really helps with decision making when you are in the madness. If you have time on your side incorporate DIY elements to personalise your day. Put a contingency sum in your budget. And finally, just enjoy the process, it’s a celebration of your love after all.

If you're now a huge fan of wedding dresses with a watteau train, check out Olivia's gown at her church wedding. Or perhaps you've fallen for the satin bridesmaid dresses? Who can blame you. We have a round-up full of lots of colourways. You're welcome.
