Inspiration

From the wedding bunting, the homemade flowers and the DIY wedding signs, this Norfolk celebration was almost all handcrafted by the couple’s friends and family. The bride wore a boho-esque lace detail wedding dress with a paper flower crown instead of the traditional handheld bouquet. The outdoor ceremony was followed by garden games on the lawn of the beautiful Norfolk wedding venue with guests enjoying the summer sun! The detail, time and effort that has gone into this wedding is so clear to see, it just makes it so much more special when you see all your hard work comes together so perfectly!

What Made Our Day Unique

We decided early on that we didn't want to do things for the sake of tradition. We wanted to plan something personal to us. This is what made our wedding unique in our eyes; from the decision to not pay for flowers, but instead make our own (with the massive help from family!); to having our friends marry us and play the music up the aisle; hand decorating empty bottles from all the parties we had had since our engagement; to making it a three-day wedding celebration.

Wedding Bunting

The wedding bunting was just the start of the handmade details at this sweet celebration. The ceremony was lined with tall handcrafted paper flowers and the reception area was decorated in paper stars and bottles that the couple had collected since their engagement. Everything was so personal, a close friend conducted the ceremony whilst other friends read sentimental wedding readings and played the music to accompany the bride and her parents down the aisle! I don't think you can get more personal than this wedding, simply beautiful!

Inspiration & Styling

We aimed for a relaxed festival vibe with a lot of partying on top of that. We wanted to avoid anything formal; that's not what we're about. We love being with our friends and family and having fun together. That's why we loved the venue; everyone could be together in one place and have the choice of playing cricket, having a boogie, going swimming, relaxing on the sides; and not feel out of place. Everyone kept asking what our colour themes are; what sort of styling we were having; and the answer was always: there isn't one! We just chose everything based on what we like. I love bright colours and we decided to go oversized on the flowers and bunting to make them really pop. But we also wanted to avoid overdoing it, as the venue was stunning as it was without our input.
