Inspiration

Bringing a little bit of Mykonos sunshine to you this November morning with a sensational wedding overlooking the sea and the picturesque white buildings. With views like this only minimal decor was needed so the couple added some palm leaves and a wooden arch with flowers to say their vows under. The bride wore a simple Pronovias wedding dress adding a gorgeous wedding capelet with lace detail as she walked alongside her bridesmaids who wore navy blue dresses and held a palm leaf instead of a bouquet! The tranquil outdoor ceremony was followed by a lively reception under a canopy of lanterns and flowers! Then to top off what was already an amazing day, during his speech the groom announced they were expecting a baby as the bride stood up to unveil her 3-month baby bump - you can see this moment in the video below, have a tissue ready!

What Made Our Day Unique

We had a wedding by the sea, with minimal decor - just the palm leaves and arch provided by Mykonos Flowers. We made this informal for guests so the dress code was holiday / casual. We asked our Brother In Law to marry us to make this a more personal ceremony. It was very relaxed and we had smiles all round from our guests. I am half Korean and so implemented small touches to my outfit to represent this through the hairpin and the tassel bag. My partner groomsmen wore patterned shirts instead of plain colourway with a beautiful sage green double-breasted jacket and Doctor Martin shoes.

Wedding Capelet

The bride teamed her Pronovias dress with a high neck, lace trim wedding capelet. Wanting to bring a little bit of her Korean roots into her outfit she chose a small tassel bag and a delicate hairpin that was tucked in a braided updo! The groom looked equally dapper, with himself and his groomsmen wearing matching sage green suits, and the groomsmen wearing fun patterned shirts!

Inspiration & Styling

Relaxed, boho, filled with tropical palms blowing in the Mykonos winds. We drove around the island prior to the wedding to find cute florists - we found just that in a small floristry outside Mykonos town. I had a clear vision of what I wanted - Palms and pineapples and lanterns for the Asian touch - she listened and produced just that. I work in fashion as a wholesale sales manager so was very clear on what image I wanted this wedding to look like. Tropical, understated with a mix of cultures.
