Inspiration

Oh. My. Goodness. THIS SHOOT!!! It's all just so beautiful! I really struggled to narrow down the images, so I've just included LOADS. I do hope that's ok ;) The lovely Big Chief Tipis are RMW recommended suppliers (see The List for lots more) and it's great to see their tipis looking so gorgeous and providing us with lots of decor, floral and fashion inspiration. The wonderful Nina Marika has styled the whole shoot to perfection, which is no mean feat, given the number of stunning looks that have been created. And each and every one is simply beautiful. It's so lovely to be able to share dresses created by super talented dress designer, Ruth Milliam, whose gowns I have fallen head over heels for. The silhouettes and detailing are just exquisite and I'm really excited to see more from this designer. But in the mean time, we have a beautiful shoot to peruse...enjoy lovely ones.

The Shoot

Hayley Harthern, Managing Director of Big Chief Tipis: Since we launched Big Chief Tipis we’ve had the pleasure to work with some incredible local talent in the North West who all have a unique creative flair. We wanted to bring our “tribe” together to create a dream wedding scenario, set within the woods in our tipis at Turton Tower in Lancashire. We envisioned a spring summer vibe with the use of lots of natural flowers, supplied by Petal & Twig, which were creatively brought together with the use of props, crockery, cutlery and decoration from the talented Nina Marika.

The Looks

We set ourselves the difficult task to create four different looks in one day, all captured by Melissa Beattie, to coincide with our choice of dresses from Ruth Milliam Couture and Lounge suits from Whitfield & Ward. Everyone on the shoot were blown away with the dresses, which were incredibly detailed. We were extremely lucky to work with such a stunning duo from Industry Models – Tom & Lydia – who were actually a couple in real life, which added such a realness to the shoot with those little romantic moments between the two. We wanted them to look stylish with a quirky twist to tie in with the tipis and the natural surroundings. Their hair was styled by Vicky Millington in a number of styles to reflect the dress changes, while Lydia’s makeup was the creation of Maxine Smith who enhanced her stunning features in a subtle yet striking way. During the daytime shots we embraced the forest, using the tipis as a backdrop for some images, while capturing interior shots of the styling and Marie Antoinnette cakes for other shots. In the evening, we flipped the shoot 180 degrees and transformed the vibe with the use of clever lighting from Luminate Events. All in all, we were in love with every element of the shoot, all the way down to the gold leaf painted egg shells!
