Do I need all day coverage?
Wedding blogs encourage your FOMO, but I believe that 5-6 hours will cover all the most important parts of your day (ceremony, reception, portraits, speeches) whilst allowing you to enjoy your evening party unobserved.
Want to know more about me?
I’m Kate Mannings, hippy at heart, Chai loving, jumpsuit obsessed, Bhakti Yogi wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Leafy Bath. I’m usually chasing my little daughter around forests, growing veg, oil painting and whizzing about on my bright red fixie bike. Originally from Bristol, I moved to Bath after a long spell in London working as a designer. Bath for me, is just the most beautiful city, filled with stunning landscapes, architecture and a warm welcoming vibe. My work now focuses around this beautiful community of weddings, local families and small wellness and sustainability minded businesses. I absolutely love capturing our shared human experience, euphoric weddings, the joy of children playing with their parents and the passion of freelance creators.
Want some simple ways to make your wedding more sustainable?
The wedding buzz can have couples thinking they need to go big or go home, starting with a hen do abroad or importing flowers out of season to create their ‘perfect’ day. But a wedding doesn’t need to be overly excessive, to be beautiful and full of creativity. Many couples I work with are opting for more sustainable choices, to make their day kinder to the environment. E-invites, seasonal menus, a vintage dress and a local venue (which are often full of character!) are just a few of the small things you can do. For me, wedding photography allows me to share the way I see the world. To tell your story and make something beautiful, whilst treading lightly on our planet. The planet is at the heart of everything I do. I’m conscious of my impact on the environment and try to reduce it as much as I can, at every part of the process. I’m far from perfect, but I’m committed to sustainability and I’m learning every day. Being kind to the planet doesn’t mean sacrificing on quality.
Does this describe you as a couple?
Do you really LOVE photography? I work best with easygoing couples, the anti-brides. Festival crazy, outdoorsy barn lovers, playful types who are full of heart. You’re a creative or expressive type and love to laugh! You don’t take life too seriously. You’ll likely break from tradition and do your own thing. Do you want to throw an epic party and not obsess over the details? It’s a celebration of your personalities, friends and family. Perhaps you are eco-conscious, but you don’t need to scream about it, you just make choices that do your bit. You might be vegan, buy British, love cycling, dress vintage or upcycle.
Want it to feel like a friend is capturing your day?
Every year in the UK around 250,000 couples get married and I exclusively only work with 15-20 couples each year who are getting married in or near Bath. This allows me to give you my full attention, energy and creativity. I work with couples who LOVE photography, but believe it should compliment their day, not dominate it. I’m a Bath & Bristol Wedding photographer who will capture your MOST important people experiencing real moments of joy. Are you a relaxed couple who don’t want an insta perfect wedding, aren’t fussed about morning prep, cake cuttings and first dance photos? If you want to show your friends and family an amazing time, without standing around all day having your photos taken, I’d love to chat.
Katy photographed my wedding back in July. Her pictures really were the cherry on top of what was the best day of our lives. Katy was so professional, she visited the church and our reception venue ahead of time to scope things out. On the day she flowed so perfectly. I've been at so many weddings where the photographer(s) can seem bossy, intrusive and spend so much time gathering groups together, but Katy was so laid back and captured so many beautiful candid moments which was exactly as we wanted in addition to the standard group shots. I can't get over how amazing the photos are, I do a double take each time I look at them. They are almost like something out of a magazine. I couldn't recommend Katy more highly. She is so talented, professional and kind. Thank you so much Katy.
Katy has done such stellar work and we would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a wedding photographer! As we had planned an intimate and informal wedding, we were very pleased when Katy agreed to work with us on a shorter 4-hour coverage. We are very impressed by her flexibility in being able to capture everything from multiple venues as our group made our way from the Southwark Garden Room to our local pub The Crooked Well. Katy had always planned ahead which helped a lot in making our wedding more relaxed and enjoyable. We feel so happy looking through our album as she has captured the smiles and laughs we shared between ourselves and our friends. Her creativity is an inspiration to us both and she has been such an amazing person to work with. Thank you Katy for capturing every special moment brilliantly. We will cherish our photos forever.
Katy - We absolutely love the photos you captured from our wedding day! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend you. Thank you so much for doing such an amazing job capturing so many of the moments and emotions (some of which we didn't get to see!) We had a lovely time reminiscing over the weekend and were really impressed with how busy you were snapping all the details. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer and you made us feel very at ease during the portrait photos.
We found Katy through quite a few wedding blog posts and she came highly recommended. She did not disappoint. Katy was amazing throughout the entire procedure. We initially booked Katy for a February wedding, but in light of the pandemic we had to rebook several times. Katy was extremely accommodating and sensitive during this time and made the process so easy and comfortable for us during such a difficult time. She was very professional throughout, with catch ups to get to know my wife and I, learn our personalities and interests and also conduct site visits to our venue to source the best photo opportunities prior to our wedding day. On the day, Katy was extremely kind, professional and a pleasure to have amongst our wedding party. She made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera (which we were both initially quite shy), and made the photoshoots and portrait shots thoroughly enjoyable. What we liked most about her style was she was able to tell the story of our wedding day perfectly with carefully orchestrating shots of the day, the wedding party and every minor detail and event that took place. Her work was incredible and we would thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer.
