We got married at Val Gaudry at the end of September 2024 because we dreamed of a relaxed, festive, and rustic wedding with an intimate guest list (around 90 people) in a stunning venue that speaks for itself. It was simply perfect. The different spaces truly allow you to customize your day however you want: a ceremony by the pool or in the orchard, dinner in the Winter Garden or under the marquee (an incredible bonus, as it can be heated if needed), and a cocktail reception in the main courtyard or the garden—all with breathtaking views over the Perche hills. There’s also the option to rent decorations from a large catalog and have everything set up on-site when you arrive. The house is warm, beautifully decorated, and perfect for large groups (28 people), making it ideal for gathering both before and after the big day. Its location is fantastic, close to the charming villages of the Perche (like Bellême) and plenty of accommodations for guests. We also greatly appreciated our interactions with Juliette, who was always available, responsive, and full of great advice. She even recommended our caterer, whom we absolutely loved. We got married on June 1st, 2024, at Val Gaudry, a farmhouse from 1809 recently renovated by Juliette Lonjon (an architect) and her husband. Our criteria? An intimate venue that could host 200 people—a rare gem unlike anything I’d seen before! The huge bonus: it can accommodate family and close friends (we were 26) for the entire weekend. I highly recommend this because the time flies by, and having loved ones around before and after the wedding is priceless. As for the location, it’s absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the Perche Natural Park. True to the name of the village, Montgaudry, it’s perched on a hill! The farmhouse is surrounded by beautiful wildflower fields, a large orchard, the marquee, and a lovely pool. This allowed us to create a unique atmosphere for each moment of the day, all with that magnificent view: the ceremony in the orchard, the cocktail by the pool, and the dinner/party under the marquee. The venue also features a versatile Winter Garden, which is perfect in case of rain, cold, or even heat. Inside, everything has been renovated with exquisite materials, and the house offers incredible comfort. Every detail has been carefully thought out, allowing us to fully relax before and after the wedding, which was incredibly valuable. Lastly, I must highlight Juliette’s kindness and remarkable availability. From the very first day, she was able to answer all our questions and those of our loved ones. She knows the region well and recommended all the right vendors. On-site, we were supported by Martine, who was equally attentive and helpful. At the same time, we were given the space we needed for privacy.
