Carnival vibes for today's London wedding at West Reservoir Centre, the bride and groom surprised their guests with a five-piece marching band to lead the couple and their guests from their town hall ceremony to the final celebration! 150 guests sashayed and spun their way through Clissold Park to the surprise beats of Das Brass Marching Band on one of the last sunny days in September, with the whole park joining in to create a magical experience, everyone was beaming! The bride looked amazing in a sophisticated split front gown teamed with a polka dot veil and a truly remarkable bouquet of beautiful David Austin roses. The perfect florals also dressed the venue for the evening party which was fueled by gin and laughter. Incredible, joyous and unexpected this celebration is all captured by Esme Ducker Photography.

What Made Our Day Unique

We surprised our guests with Das Brass, a five-piece marching band, who met us at our drinks reception and led us to our final venue, West Reservoir Centre. We were unbelievably lucky with the weather so with the sun shining, cocktail in hand, the whole wedding party danced their way across Clissold Park in Stoke Newington. The whole park joined in so it felt like our own mini-festival - it was magical. After the ceremony, we had 5 mins alone in a side room whilst the guests filtered outside for the confetti shot. This was our favourite part of the day because there's nothing quite like that feeling of having just got married in a room filled with love.

West Reservoir Centre

This quirky London venue was the perfect backdrop for the couple’s big day. West Reservoir Centre features a 1930s red-brick tower boasting fascinating structural design elements, flooded by natural light. In line with the bride and grooms relaxed vibe the reception consisted of an informal family-style dining experience with rustic styling and the most beautiful floral arrangments by Henrietta Hickling Florals teamed with festoon lighting.

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted to avoid anything too formal and create a relaxed environment for our day. We chose our suppliers with this in mind. For example, our wonderful caterer, Deanna at Platter and Slate understood our vision and created informal family-style dining centred around slow-cooked lamb shoulder which was such a hit. Similarly our lovely photographer, Esme Ducker Photography understood that we didn't want the traditional formal shots and she captured the spirit of our day beautifully. Our florist, Henrietta Hickling Florals, went above and beyond to create the most beautiful, summery arrangements for our day. My bridal bouquet was spectacular, and I couldn't have asked for more. I was set on having peonies but these were not in season, so Henrietta sourced some beautiful David Austin roses that have a similar, peony effect. The colours and textures in the bridal party bouquets were stunning and we received so many compliments.

This bride and grooms advise is to remember what's important to you both and ignore the rest, your wedding should be a reflection of you both as a couple and it should be what you want it to be. After this couple came across a wedding on Rock My Wedding that used all three of their venues the idea of a wedding tour was born! rock my wedding forum
