Inspiration

We are well and truly mesmerised by this Wharfedale Grange wedding. With RMW recommended suppliers, Abbie Sizer Photography and Leafy Couture helping to capture all the magic and adding romantic flowers to the celebration. The picture of the family covered in confetti exiting the wedding radiating joy literally swells my heart and the moment I saw the abundance of lights in the barn my jaw hit the floor. There are plenty more inspiring elements to pore over and pin to, so get yourself comfortable, and enjoy!

What Made Our Day Unique

Cliché, but it really was having everyone under one roof. From my Australian friends (having lived there for ten years) to Craig's Jamaican family it really was a blend of cultures. This was reflected in the catering right the way through to the very funky roaming live band. From the customised gin bar to the surprise saxophonist and soul singer to dance us out of the ceremony room. We really want it to be one big relaxed party and it was, along with the small child meltdowns and hiccups along the way. Which only added to the whole day.

Wharfedale Grange

Wharfedale Grange is home to two barns, the North Barn where Debs and Graig said their I do's in front of the incredible fairy light curtain and the South Barn where they held their reception under an abundance of chandeliers. They filled the barn with copper cutlery, a traditional Jamaican fruit cake, made by Grandma and decorated by the bride, and partied the night away to a funky roaming band whilst sipping customised gin from the bar, perfectly blending Debs' Australian background with Craig's Jamaican heritage.

Inspiration & Styling

We knew from the outset that we didn't want a traditional wedding. The vibe had to be relaxed and fun, but we also wanted it to be visually beautiful, especially as I am an interior designer. We wanted the wedding to be around the things we love the most, food, music and socialising with family and friends.

Wedding Dress

I found my dress at the Manchester Wedding Fair. I had actually placed a deposit down on another dress two weeks prior and I was only really going to the fair to see if anything jumped out at me in regards to decoration or favours. But I saw the dress being tried on by someone else and thought I would give it go... I fell instantly in love with it. So to ensure I received the show discount (as I now was going to lose my first deposit) I had to make a decision in 24 hrs. The only way to make sure I was making the right decision was to try the first dress on again, however, the boutique was down in Bakewell and not open. So, I then had to find a northern stockist that would open for me, just so I could make my mind up. I finally did and it cemented my choice to go with the 2nd one. All this was happening at the end of February and we were getting married at the start of October, so everyone was getting a little panicked regarding time.

It's ok to have mixed emotions about buying your wedding dress, some brides look forward to it and some brides are terrified of the experience. We speak to boutique owner Maddie on our 'Buying Your Wedding Dress Podcast' to give you a little insight into what to expect. We also have a Wedding Dress Guide with graphics of the silhouettes available, plus, advice from wedding dress designers. And if you fancy looking at another Wharfedale Grange wedding, we can highly recommend this Anglo Indian fusion wedding with 200 guests and an epic confetti cannon portrait.
