What Robyn Did… The E-Shoot

Today we have a change to the regular schedule with a little post from Robyn courtesy of her Photographer and mutual friend of ours, Chanelle Segerius-Bruce. Chanelle recently shot Robyn and Robin’s Engagement shoot and took such stunning images that she sent them along for us to feature. Robyn has kindly written a little bit about the shoot and you lucky guys get to see the super gorgeous couple 🙂

I’ll hand you over…

Our lovely friend and photographer, Chanelle, from Sergius- Bruce Photography took some great snaps at our engagement shoot earlier this month. We had no idea what we wanted so they picked the location and direction of the shoot which really helped. It took all the stress and pressure off us to pick something amazing.

Now I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel terribly uncomfortable infront of the camera. I always imagine how other people cope in a photoshoot; striking loads of different cool poses, swishing their hair and looking ultra glam. Eeerr, I think I have been watching too much Elle TV on my lunch breaks.

It’s not like that at all! I seem to seize up like a stiff plank. My mouth instantly goes dry and I get a cheesy perma grin on my face like a Cheshire cat. Kind of like that episode on friends where Chandler and Monica announce their engagement in the paper. He gets that wierdo freaked out look on his face every time the camera turns on. I feel like I’m back at school doing a presentation in front of 500 other students staring on! Sheer PANIC!

The week leading up to the shoot Robin (boy) was cool, calm and collected while I was having funny dreams and waking up in a cold sweat. But. All that drama aside it turned out to be a great afternoon. Chanelle made us feel so relaxed that I was able to chill out a bit and actually enjoy myself. Rob seems to be a natural and was his usual silly self which helped calm me down.

We will be able to treasure these pictures and memories forever. And how wonderful is that!

I cannot recommend Chanelle and Craig from Sergius-Bruce Photography highly enough. They are special couple who are sensitive, patient, a great laugh and really talented photographers. All of which are very important when you have your photos taken. I think engagement shoots are a great way of getting used to the camera, especially before one of the biggest days of your life. After all, who wants to pull a ‘Chandler’ in the photos they will cherish for the rest of their lives?!

Love from,
Robyn xx

  1. Gorgeous E-shoot Robyn 🙂 congrats, if these are anything to go by, you’ll both look amazing on your wedding day!! Looking forward to hearing more on your planning! x

  2. Things I love:

    -autumnal coat matching autumnal leaves
    – Robyn’s hair (IS THAT NATURAL??? You should be in a swishy L’Oréal ad!)
    – engagement rings on leaves
    -picnic blanket frolicking
    – fields of wheat. I do not do enough things in field of wheat.
    – crunching on leaves through tree-lined alleyways
    – Robin’s jacket – oh to get Mr K out of his perennial “bomber” number…

You guys are living the autumnal, pre-marital dream. I. Love.

  3. Love love love that colour palette. And the photo on the picnic blanket especially. Gorgeous couple – can’t wait to see their wedding!

  4. Ummm… Ok, I feel like I need to explain my last comment – it is annoying that you are so happy and in love, because some people get all the luck, beautiful AND in love…. I’m not just some weirdo who doesn’t like people to be happy. And now I have maybe just accentuated my comment, when I should probably have just left it…. *crawls away under a rock*….anyways, rest assured, everything is beautiful and I like very much.

    *shut UP clare*

  5. Taxi for Clare…!

You two are ridiculously gorgeous. It hurts to look at you lying on that picnic blanket because I’m SO insanely jealous and your ring is a beauty too…might have to go find me a big leaf to carry around to show mine off with!

Liking a lot. And am so.bloody.excited. for the next DIY post!

  6. I think this is the first time I’ve commented on an engagement shoot. This one is so lovely, just gorgeous and needed to be commented on. Partly as it’s someone we’ve ‘met’.
My favourite part is the floral headband.
    Big floral love x

  7. oooo purdy!

Robyn, I am so with you in the whole Chandler-itis, I was gutted when our e-shoot was cancelled for last weekend as I suffer from exactly the same problem! Cannot help either doing a stupid face or grinning like a maniac whenever a camera is pointed at me!

These pictures are lovely and you both look really natural (and ‘annoyingly good looking’!), the autumnal colours are gorgeous.

    a very jealous r.now x x x

  8. These photos are gorgeous! Bloomin Nora, how good looking are you two?! What a lovely set of images to keep and to treasure xxx ps where was the floral headband from Robyn? Love it.

  10. You guys really are amazing. Thanks for all your lovely comments!! I could see Rob’s head slightly inflating after reading each post. I’m pleased to report we can both still fit through the door- but only just.

Anna K-err I’d like to lie and say its natural but they are highlights. I need some help in the ‘sun-kissed hair’ department.

Missrecyclenow-so glad I’m not the only camera phobe. I hope we get to see your engagement shots when you get them done, I’m sure they will be AMAZING.

Lucy- Floral headband was from Topshop a couple of months ago.

Clare-your comment made me lough out loud. I in no way think your a wierdo.

    Heaps of love,
    Robyn xxxx

Bit late to the party I know but this is beautiful, gorgeous colours ( gorgeous ruddy coat pet!) and you pair are unbelievably attractive – very much model material!

Also I am echoing the hair appreciation, do you use a special volumising shampoo? fancy conditioner?! It’s the perfect colour and thickness, totally echo Anna K on the L’Oreal advert. I think you should send a pic in to their Head Office – you are so worth it!!!
