Inspiration

Eleanor and Alastair opted for a traditional English country wedding featuring a beautiful white rose bouquet. The day began with a church ceremony and an epic confetti exit before travelling in style to a relatives garden for a summer tipi reception. All the flowers were home-grown including the pretty table arrangements styled with a wild meadow theme and a touch of bold colour. Along with the beautiful flowers the couple also dressed the tipi with fairy lights and had black and white polaroid images hung with pegs creating such a personalised touch. Making the most of their rural surroundings the couple stole a moment away from the celebration and created the most beautiful sunset shots, all in all, a wonderful, joy-filled day captured by Carrie Lavers Photography.

What Made Our Day Unique

It was an entirely local affair! My (Eleanor's) parents grew all the flowers and they also created the floral wedding arch. My mother & her friends decorated the church and a next-door neighbour kindly created the bouquets and buttonholes. I invited the retired vicar from my childhood to return to the village church and marry us and, lastly, my godmother hosted the reception in her garden. Our favourite moment was the church service. Having everyone you love from all over the world under one roof, for one hour, just for you both, was an incredible feeling. The excitement of walking to church from home with my father, standing at the entrance and seeing everyone waiting, my husband and I making our vows to one another...so many special moments crammed into 60mins of your life!

White Rose Bouquet

The brides white rose bouquet was simply stunning, such a classic combination of flowers which worked perfectly with her Modeca Dynasty dress. Eleanor also donned one of the best veils we have seen and was an impressive five metres long! Teamed with her simple dress it worked perfectly and the windy weather made for some amazingly dramatic sunset shots. In keeping with the simple, classic theme, the bridesmaids wore Ghost Sylvia dresses in Oyster and the flower girls all wore the prettiest gypsophila floral crowns.

Inspiration & Styling

We didn't have a style in mind other than a traditional English country wedding. As the flowers were home-gown, the floral styling became wild meadow/free flowing and the colour scheme blush and cream with a touch of bolder deep red. The church service was formal and traditional. The reception was in a private garden with a more relaxed vibe but we still followed the reception format of canapes, speeches, seated dinner...then party!
