Inspiration

When a wildflower wedding bouquet makes its way down the aisle in a Lake District wedding… you know it’s going to be a good one. Wanting to marry in a bluebell wood, but accepting the rainy faint of the Lake District, Ailsa went about creating the same feel, but indoors! Being in the wedding industry herself, Ailsa found it easy when it came to choosing her suppliers, and of course opted for Recommended Supplier, Captured By Katrina (who wouldn’t!?) Now, onto the good stuff… not only have this gorgeous couple got serious style, but they’ve also been together since they were 17! Is someone cutting onions in here…

Wildflower wedding bouquet inspiration

Kyle and I have been together since we were 17, so I always knew when we eventually got married it would be special. Although every other bride will probably say the same. For me though, what really stood out was how incredible the people in my world are. The majority of the styling and floristry making was done by myself and my friends and family. Every little detail was crafted with a lot of love; from the stationery to the table settings to the large amounts of flowers.

STYLING

I always thought I would marry in a bluebell wood. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a young girl. But living in the Lake District, you have to accept the fact it will most likely rain! So I wanted to create the same sort of feeling but inside. The lighting was a huge part in making this work. We went with a green and peach colour theme throughout and added some extra colours in the flowers.

FAVOURITE MOMENT

Trying to pick one is very hard! I just remember looking around on many occasions and just seeing how happy everyone was. It was shortly after all restrictions from Covid had been lifted, so I think it was many people's first real event. Being in the same place as so many of your family and friends really is extremely special.

We love Kyle’s bespoke grey suit!

Utilise the people around you. You’ll be surprised how many people are very crafty and good with a pair of scissors!
