Love is in the air on the weekend of October 11th & 12th when the South West’s premier wedding show returns to Westpoint Arena, Exeter.

Bride: The Wedding Show, organised by Archant Bride, is a fabulous day out for prospective Brides and Grooms, friends and families who want to plan the perfect wedding with the help of more than 130 of the finest regional and national wedding suppliers. From venues to photographers, florists to designers, caterers to cars, stylists to entertainers, the show hosts all the experts you need to create the day of your dreams.

The choreographed catwalk shows which are known as the best in the industry, take place three times daily at 11.30am, 1.15pm and 3pm. As well as showcasing the latest fashions for the brides, bridesmaids, team groom and guests, they are guaranteed to have the crowd laughing and clapping with great music and dancing. Designs on the catwalk include gowns from Kate Walker, The Ivory Secret, Pirouette, Sassi Holford and Serenity, ideas for the mother of the bride will be showcased by The Dressing Room, and there’s menswear from Lugets, Moss and Jonathan Hawkes. Occasionwear from John Lewis will provide inspiration to the whole wedding party too.

There’s entertainment from the likes of magician Dan Brazier, The Devon Wedding Singer, harpist Susan Sherratt, a casino and award-winning artist Charlotte Atkinson will be exhibiting and painting live scenes from the show. Charlotte is renowned for uniquely evoking the elegance and style of a wedding dress in an original watercolour.

Hair and beauty exhibitors will be on hand to give top tips and advice and there’s a stylish champagne bar and a Land Rover converted into a cocktail bar. The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, the charity which organises and funds weddings for terminally-ill people, will have a stand to explain their work.

This year’s venue exhibitors include fairytale castles, city centre hotels, waterside luxury, rural retreats, a golf club and the newest wedding venue in the South West, Bridwell Park – the Grade I listed home of Lord Ivar Mountbatten.

All brides who visit will receive a free copy of South West Bride magazine and an official show guide and the first 100 brides through the door on each day will receive a free goody bag.

Joanne Goodwin of show organisers Archant Bride says: “Bride: The Wedding Show is a great day out whether you’re planning a girlie outing with your bridesmaids or a go-see with your husband-to-be or parents. There are dozens of inspirational exhibitors, food to taste, music and magic and a catwalk show that is pure fun from start to finish – everyone from grans to youngsters love it and lots of visitors stay to see at least two, if not three of the shows. Our exhibitors are the best in their field and we are delighted to be supporting the The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation this year.”

“This great weekend at Westpoint is the best way to meet and support local wedding industry businesses. Weddings are very personal; you need to get to know your planner, your caterer, your dress shop and photographer and Bride: The Wedding Show is the best starting point. We aim to make it the best day of your life together…until the big day actually arrives of course.”

  1. I’ve booked the venue and a band! So with 12months to go, at that point, I’ll be looking for everything from photography to dresses, flowers and decorations! Eeeeeek!

  2. We are getting married in June 2015 and have realised how indesisive I am! Cannot make any decisions! There is so much choice and ideas on the internet especially RMW that how can a girl possibly choose? I need some guidance and a little inspiration!

    1. Also – still need to sort transport for me, honeymoon, mini-pre-wedding break (is that a thing?), dresses, suits for boys, food, save the dates/invites…

So, pretty much everything. We should probably get a wriggle on.

  3. June all of a sudden is getting closer!! Nothing booked yet as cannot seem to find anything that really does blow me away.. All the wedding fairs seem to be when I am working, not getting anywhere fast. Exeter seems like the perfect place to see everything at once.

  4. I’ve got 11 months to go and have book my venue, flowers and food! But still desperately want to find my dream dress, bridemaid dresses (I have 5!), my man and his best men’s suits, a band, decoration, pretty much everything else! We’re getting married outside in Eggesfotd with a country garden theme (hopefully) so will need inspiration! x

  5. Our wedding is in July next year! Everything is booked and ready to go, venue, cars, 2 bands, lights, hair, nails, wax, DJ, dress bought, bridesmaid dresses bought, flower girl dresses bought, returned and bought again! 9 pairs of matching shoes bought and hidden away, favours organised, hen do booked, flowers booked, photographer booked (looking forward to the engagement shoot next weekend)

We are getting married officially at the registry office the day before, that’s all sorted too, with a little gathering at the pub afterwards!

We are looking at 10 months of extreme poverty and hardcore saving to pay for everything! I’m hoping that being organised will mean minimum stress and being able to concentrate on what’s important!

  6. Yesterday the count down to our big day reached its ‘one year to go’ mark! We had a little pre wedding anniversary celebration- thats a thing right? We have our venue, church and photographer booked! aswell as the bridesmaids dresses. Still loads in the air when it comes to decor, beauty and of course the bridal gown and flowers too!

  7. I have THE dress and am growing 100 favours!! That is literally it haha. Almost sorted a venue but not quite. I feel I’ve prioritised perfectly, right?! 🙂

  8. We have finally settled on the plan to get married in this country rather than somewhere more exotic, we are now beginning to look at venues with the view to set a date at some point in 2016. Still early days for us but ideas starting to take shape now! Xx

  9. We’ve only recently got engaged and we’re planning on getting married in Summer 2016. Plenty of time to get super creative and hand-ons! We haven’t made any set plans yet but finding a venue is our top priority at the moment! I was erring towards a rustic barn kinda wedding but now I’ve been thinking more and more about having our wedding in a field! A mini-festival vibe perhaps! Who knows, it’s all to decide. So I’d be keeping my eyes peeled for venues and everything else as well. I love to be inspired! Amy x

  10. Wedding in April : venue, photographer, video, , accommodation, cocktail van, deck chairs, games, ice cream, popcorn cart, and candy floss cart all booked. Dress designed and booked, 2 bridesmaids dresses bought, bunting and invitations made, favours umm well mostly sorted, decorations ongoing, singer booked, international Dj’s are relatives, confetti and flowers for cake ordered, florist and honeymoon booked, makeup bought, so I’m looking for quirky inspiration, and a hairdresser though I may be persuaded to have a makeup artist if I found a great one! I keep finding awesome ideas and getting carried away!

  11. We’re getting married next May in Miami, venue booked, invites done and dress bought. That’s it! I need some inspiration for vintage style flower girl dresses, boys suits, wedding favours and shoes for everyone. Would love to go to this show as it’s pretty local to me and I’ve not been to one before! xx
