Win Your Mini-Moon With St Michaels Hotel Cornwall

Just before Christmas team RMW were invited to stay at the St Michaels Hotel & Spa in Cornwall. I snuck off for a truly relaxing stay there with my boyfriend and it was absolutely blissful.

Situated in the pretty docking town of Falmouth, which is a gorgeous little place filled with art galleries, treasure trove boutiques, trendy cafes, bars and restaurants and literally a stones throw from Gyllyngvase Beach – you couldn’t ask for a better location.

Our Stay

We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which has gorgeous views of the sun setting over the beach – and you could see the giant liner ships coming into dock which my boyfriend loved! I had a massage in the spa which was absolutely divine. (I’m a slight spa fanatic, I have to admit I’m a member of my local hotel spa and we generally don’t stay in a hotel unless it has a spa…and the treatment rooms at St Michaels were lovely and they use ESPA products which smell wonderful and make your skin feel amazing).

We ate a delicious locally sourced dinner in the restaurant – I had a gorgeous sea bass dish, Matt had fish pie, and the staff were friendly and really knowledgable about the dishes. Breakfast the next morning was equally as yummy.

All in all, it was a lovely stay and I’m really excited to offer you lovely lot the chance to win your mini moon at St Michaels!

  1. Having spent most summers in Cornwall as a girl, and young adult, i cannot think of a better place to spend my mini-moon following my wedding this May. We used to visit all the coastal towns of Cornwall, including Falmouth, but I have never been to Cornwall with my fiancé. It would be so lovely to show him all the little gems Cornwall has to offer as his new wife 🙂

  2. As a real beach fanatic I was so sad to have to move from Canterbury to the East Midlands when I changed jobs. It would be wonderful to soak up some windy walks on those blissful beaches and spend some quality time together! We always joke it would be a dream to move to Cornwall for retirement! Maybe I could convince him to do it earlier!

  3. From the age of 5 I spent all my childhood holidays in the beautiful surroundings of Cornwall. Surf lessons, long walks and relaxing beach days are my fondest childhood memories with my family. My husband to be has never visited Cornwall, and we always planned one day to go back. We get married in December this year, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect location for our minimoon. After all we have gone through, this trip would mean the world to us.

  4. What a fabulous place! My lovely fiancé proposed in Cornwall in September whilst we were holidaying in a romantic converted barn overlooking the Cornish hills and coast. We’re getting married in August and I can’t think of a better way to start married life than to re-visit Cornwall!

  5. What a fabulous treat, 3 days R&R in an utterly beautiful part of our lovely country. I have only ever been to Cornwall once and would love to go and explore Falmouth with my husband to be #108daystilimamrs

  6. I live in Devon, and I love devon and cornwall. I like living close the the coast and I have never wanted to leave it so a mini moon in Cornwall would be fab. Especially as a honeymoon locally after my wedding next February would be icing on the cake!

  7. I’d love to win this competition as my parents honeymoon’d in Cornwall and camped around the coast. I have a 70’s photo of them with St Michael’s Mount in the background. I’ve never been so I would love to visit and re-create it after our wedding this year.

  8. We actually live in Cornwall, but would be over the moon if we won this! We’ve got a small farm and it is nearly impossible to find someone to look after our animals- this would mean that we could escape and be pampered, but still be able to rush home if anything goes terribly wrong with our many 4-legged friends! We’re desperately in need of a pamper session after looking after everyone else all the time!

  9. My fiture hubby is Aussie and has been in the UK for 10 years. When I met him 4 years ago he’d hardly seen any of this amazing country so I made it my mission to take him on lots of UK breaks so see our green and plesant land. What a wonderful way to start our married life by continuing this tradition as husband and wife. All fingers and toes crossed to win an awesome mini-moon in Cornwall! X

  10. We have been looking for the perfect UK location for our honeymoon after our wedding in September in Mid Wales. We want to go somewhere understated and relaxed. We are both foodies who love seafood, especially when it is fresh and locally sourced so the restaurant sounds right up our street! I love Cornwall but my fiancé has never been. Driving down to Falmouth knowing we were staying at St Michaels Hotel would be the most wonderful start to our life as husband and wife.

  11. It would be lovely to be able to go back to Cornwall, and especially for the wonderful occasion of a mini moon! I haven’t visited since I was young on a family holiday. It would be a lovely place to relax, unwind and explore after our wedding in June, and hopefully with some sunny weather.

  12. Cornwall was the first place I was ever able to take my fiancé on holiday so it would be perfect to return for our first holiday as a married couple!

  13. This hotel sounds like honeymoon heaven…we would love to come here for a few days to chill out together, breath in some sea air, eat delicious food and honeymoon! We got married in December just before Christmas and haven’t had an opportunity for a holiday…this would be perfect!

  14. As my husband and I grew up in the Isles of Scilly and plan to get married there this year – we have been desperately looking for the perfect mini moon destination in Cornwall.

After subjecting my husband-to-be to the logistical nightmares of planning an island wedding, staying at St. Michaels would make up for all of it!

We even celebrated his grandparents’ diamond wedding anniversary here, so hopefully it would prove to be a great place to start our marriage and one day maybe we could return to celebrate 60 years ourselves.

  15. We live in Manchester and are getting married in Scotland, Cornwall is said to be beautiful and I would love to say that we travelled the whole country for our day and mini moon! A full 3 nights without our children- it might even feel like a real honeymoon! 🙂 Haha!

  16. I’d love to surprise my partner with this. He’s a surfer (I’m merely a beach-devotee) and has never been to Cornwall. I’ve been a few times and am pretty desperate to show him how gorgeous it is!

It would also be suuuuper to chill out and be pampered, just the two of us, after a week of having lots of family around for the wedding.

  17. We love Cornwall. Both of us have had many family holidays there and enjoyed every bit. So being there together would be amazing and make our time together complete

  18. We both work, live and are getting married central London, which don’t get me wrong, is wonderful. But sometimes I feel like I will go a bit cuckoo if I don’t see the sky and sneeze without black snot….. so please save us!

  19. I live in Mull of Kintyre, Scotland and whilst we are lucky enough to have idyllic beaches on our doorstep, I have heard lots about Cornwall and about how much of a lovely place it is to visit so it sounds like the ideal place for a mini-moon. It is also a place I have never had the opportunity to visit before.

  20. It’s one of the places Iv always wanted to Visit but Life hasn’t taken me Yet, This is also the case for my Husband, There is no such thing as Last minute when booking For Cornwall so we found out last year, we would love a Weekend away to make some Memories as Husband and Wife, Possibly a surf lesson would be amazing but personally I want to taste some of that Beautiful Cornish Sea Air, my husband is just hoping for a pasty or two!

  21. I would love to honeymoon in Cornwall, my fiance spent a lot of his childhood summers here and has many fond memories. It would be lovely to go back there and make new happy memories as husband and wife. Much needed rest and recuperation after the stress of wedding planning.

  22. I got married at the end of December and had to return to work just a few days later due to my new husband being a teacher. Straight back to earth with a bang! We’re both desperate to visit the Cornish coast (despite being located 500 miles away in Scotland) and we’re both desperate for some quality husband and wife time as our wedding feels like a distant memory despite being only weeks ago! You’d make some (skint) newlyweds so happy and we’d be forever grateful! x

  23. I would LOVE to have a mini-moon in Cornwall! I spent every single childhood summer there, staying with my Nan and Grandad. My Grandad has now passed away and my Nan is very old so is moving away, so there will be no more family holidays for us. I would love to go there with my lovely future hubby and show him the Cornish delights – beaches, pasties, fudge, ice cream and wonderful Cornish people. We’re not having a honeymoon so a little getaway would be a wonderful way to start married life together!

  24. I used to visit Cornwall pretty much every summer when I was younger – beautiful beaches, breathtaking scenery – they are the memories of my childhood. Although my fiancé has been, we have never had the chance to go together & I would love to show him how magical a place it is. It would also give us a chance to create more memories in a place that is already so special to me.

  25. We are just organising our big day to take place in a small village called Feock not far from Falmouth. For us Cornwall means magical holidays, family fun and laughter and of course the beautiful coastline. A stay at St michaels would be utter luxury and a perfect place to stay on our wedding night after our big day!

  26. My gorgeous other half is a surfing fanatic and has never been to Cornwall. Living in Belfast, one of his bucket list of places to visit is Cornwall for the amazing surf, beaches and coastline. We would absolutely love to visit Cornwall together and drink in the hospitality and charm that this beautiful part of the world has to offer 🙂

  27. My fiance and I had always wanted to visit Cornwall, and experience the beauty that everyone raves about. We decided to take a trip for my fiance’s 30th birthday, however, all did not go according to plan! He got food poisoning half way through the trip after a dodgy oyster and spent the remainder of the trip in the bathroom and in bed 🙁 I would absolutely love to take him back, and to such a lovely hotel, to create some happier memories of Cornwall! xXx

  28. For my Fiance and I, Cornwall is the most magical place on earth. My fiancee spent every summer there as a boy and It has seen some of our most beautiful and some of our hardest relationship moments and it’s part of who we are as a couple. When planning our wedding for July this year we realised the only place we really wanted to have it was in Cornwall, not only for our own enjoyment, but also so we could share this wonderful utopia with our friends and family. It has, at the end of the day, become part of our family, and will be ever embedded in our lives following our wedding day.
I flew to Cornwall from Milan(!) for our first ever date. It was the most perfect setting i could have ever imagined as he handed me his yellow oilies and we scrambled to a cliff top with a basket of gin and tonics and hand warmers to watch the sun set over the crashing waves. In fact i had fallen for him so hard i accidentally (?) missed my plane back to Milan. Cornwall and he had won me over.
Five years on and we love it more every time we visit. Honeymooning in this amazing county would just be the most wonderful cherry on top our our cornish wedding cake. There is so much hype about travelling to places far and wide, spending thousands for the privilege. What we would love is to simply continue our love story where it first started making new memories to carry with us. It would also be lovely to one day be able to say to our little ones “this is where mummy and daddy came on their honeymoon – isn’t is special”

  29. I would absolutely love to win this for our mini-moon – my hubby to be is organising our honeymoon as a surprise and I have no idea when or where we are going so I’d love to surprise him with my own little secret getaway surprise! I’ve been trying to get him to do a spa weekend with me for years and this would be the perfect start! X x

  31. As a wedding photographer I can only manage a mini moon after our wedding in late March. We have 5 days off before I go back to work and lots of wonderful weddings. I adore Cornwall and a few days in this gorgeous hotel would be the prefect place to take time out to appreciate our own wedding before I shoot everyone else’s!!

  32. my fiancé & I are moving to America shortly after we marry so it would be amazing to have a typical English mini-moon before we go!

  33. I may be already married but don’t let that discount;
Because I’ve always longed to stay at the beautiful St Michaels Mount.
    We had no proper honeymoon due to our small baby I do recount;
So pick up for this amazing prize and we’ll be overjoyed in vast amount!

  34. I’d love to win this minimoon – we are getting married in December and have just found out we are expecting in September so the week to the Maldives we had planned is cancelled for the distant future! I’m not one for a sob story but it would be great to have a few nights to ourselves after the wedding as our wedding night will be spent with our 18 month old and the new arrival!

  35. My fiancé proposed on our first anniversary on 1st November last year in the most romantic way.

As I am due to have major spinal surgery soon, we have planned our wedding quickly, so no matter what happens I’ve been able to walk down the aisle. It has also been a fantastic distraction for what I’ve got to go through shortly.

Hopefully all will go to plan and next year once I’m fully recovered we will finally be able to have our honeymoon, but in the meantime to be able to enjoy a mini moon here, prior to my op would be such a wonderful way to conclude our wedding celebrations and a surprise for my fabulous fiancé who has already proved his love and support through sickness and in health!!!

  36. I would love to go to Cornwall,
    For a mini moon.
I only got engaged last month,
But my wedding can’t come too soon!
I’ve been with my fella for 10 years now,
I’ve been waiting forever for a ring.
And finally it’s actually happened to me,
And I can’t wait to celebrate like a king!
It would be a real treat relaxing in the spa,
And stopping in the lovely hotel.
Afternoon tea is my absolute fave,
And the bubbly and yummy dinner will go down well!

  37. The last time I went to Cornwall, I inadvertently signed up to my first surfing lesson where all 12 of my fellow surfers were on day two of a rather boozy stag do. I then had to wrestle myself into a brand new wetsuit (spoiler alert, it had zero ‘give’ to it!) in a corner, behind a makeshift curtain held up by two stags who kindly averted their eyes before using whatever strength they could muster to zip me into it. My next trip to Cornwall will hopefully be more relaxing! (and I may even teach new husband a few things in the water too!)

  38. My fiancé is a magazine journalist and I am a TV producer and so we both find our chaotic schedules makes it really difficult to get away together. A mini moon in Cornwall would be an amazing (and a very appreciated) opportunity to spend time together after months of manic work schedules and wedding planning. What makes it even more perfect is the hotel is dog friendly so we could take our gorgeous miniature dachshund Douglas along with us!

  39. This mini-moon would be the perfect end to our perfect day; our summer Cornish wedding would tie in beautifully with a short break in Falmouth. It’s our favourite part of the world and where we both grew up. Proper job!

  40. Cornwall holds a special place in my partner and I’s heart. Our first holiday together was to St Austell for my birthday and since then we’ve returned every year to different parts. He proposed at Lands End when I was 20 weeks pregnant with our baby boy & we are now planning to return now he’s here.
We love Cornwall and as a minimoon is ideal; I know I’d find it more comfortable being in the same Country whilst away from my boy.

  41. My partner and I have a slight obsession with Falmouth…in fact I’d say it’s a pretty HUGE obsession with the place! We spend many an hour plotting our escape from the City rat race (and an unhealthy amount of time looking at ‘forever homes’ online). In reality it will be a long long time until we’re in a position to make the move from the (equally glamorous of course) Brixton SW London (!) Due to some rather untimely and desperate flat renovations, the honeymoon budget has had to be spent on damp proofing and a new boiler (it pains me to even type that sentence). So to think we would get to spend some serious R&R in the place we will one day call home is such a lovely thought. Spending a few days somewhere with a functioning boiler and hot water on tap is almost enough to tip me over the edge…that really would be the icing on the cake. x

  42. My fiancé has dreamt of going surfing for years but has never done it! He surprised me with a ring so I want to surprise him with Surfing! Cornwall is such an idyllic setting and we would both love to go there. It would be a dream come true!

  43. My handsome Donovan moved here from South Africa 3 years ago, living on the coast in Durban he was used to regular trips to the sea/local harbor. Sadly moving to the midlands he has not seen the sea or visited the glory that is Cornwall, which is where i spent most memorable childhood holidays. Both working 2 jobs full time a mini moon would send us over the moon for a much needed break away together enjoying all things wonderfully Cornish! Fingers crossed RMW!

  44. I have only been to Cornwall once and I absolutely loved it! Amazing scenery and so many adventures enjoyed. I would love to take my fiancee on this minimoon.

  45. I’d so love to win this prize, as Falmouth is where my boy and I got engaged last summer and it is a place that now means the world to us! We had a beautiful day at Trebah Gardens where he got down on one knee looking over the sea…then we celebrated with a cheeky can of Pimms and a pasty on Gyllingvase beach. It was perfect 🙂 We’re getting married in London in August but haven’t really planned anything as a honeymoon as money’s a bit tight. This feels a bit like fate as we’d love to go back to Falmouth to mark the anniversary of getting engaged…and on our honeymoon too! And to top it all neither of us have ever visited a spa – so this would be a real experience for us both. Tracy xx

  46. My husband and I are yet to have any kind of honeymoon or mini moon despite being married for 3 years in December, 2 kids later we just don’t seem to find the time or the money to justify one, this would be a perfect excuse to find a babysitter and celebrate being married at last!

  47. We would both absolutely love to win this holiday! Most of our money is going on our wedding to make it a perfect day, however to win this would allow us to extend the celebrations for another few days which we can’t afford to do. Rockmywedding has been like a second piece of me during my wedding organising process and this would just mean the world to us! Xxx

  48. On the 2nd June last year myself and my fiancé got engaged in St Ives and fell in love with the town. We’re getting married later this year and we’d both appreciate a little break before the big day! 🙂

  49. Wow this place looks amazing! As both myself and my fiancé are self employed workaholics, we won’t be able to take much time off after our wedding this July, and a minimoon in Cornwall would make us over the moon! The spa looks fab, honestly the best present we could have would be some quality time together where we can both just chill out for a few days, and we both adore the English coastline. Holidays are few and far between for us these days so it would be such a treat to get away (and even better if we can take our little fur baby puppy with us)!

  50. My husband to be and I would love to win the Cornish minimoon after many financial setbacks with house, car and health we almost had to cancel our wedding. Luckily with the help of our axing friends and family we are able to have a low key but beautiful wedding in June. This would be a lovely treat for my partner Aaron as he has had a lot to put up with especially my upset of the fact we may not be able to tie the knot! He’s my rock and this would be a dream come true as we won’t have any funds left for a honeymoon. I love your blog and read it everyday! I’ve actually saved loads by picking up handy tips. Lots of love R&A x

  51. We had our first romantic break away as a couple in Cornwall and it would be fantastic to return! I couldn’t think of a more romantic way to start our married life. Please pick us!

  52. I live by the sea in sunny Cornwall,
Before I met him, life was so normal.
It was our first proper meeting,
    A tentative greeting..
So, off to Gylly for a brunch date,
I knew that day I met my soul mate.
6 months later, he did beseech,
On bended knee on a beach.
I said yes to be his wife
A move on the cards, a change in life.
He fell for Kernow and for me.
We’d love to moon there and for free!

  53. We would love a mini moon in Cornwall after our wedding in the Outer Hebrides. Neither of us have been and would love to explore such a beautiful area.

  54. Cornwall is truly magical and having a few days away there after our very Devonian wedding would be perfect. We’ve just moved house are exhausted and 2 months from our wedding the thought of this is sheer bliss!

  55. I visited Cornwall a lot with my mom when I was younger. It holds such special memories for me and her. She worked as hard as possible to ensure we had at least one small holiday a year. Some of my favourite memories are being in a small chalet in front of a gas heater on a sofa bed. I haven’t been back since. Me and my fiancé Phil will be getting married in August. We are funding the wedding ourselves and have no budget left for a honeymoon. I go back to work four days after we marry! I’m looking forward to those four days off together as a married couple no matter where we are. I would love to see Cornwall as an adult, and with my Phil by my side.

  56. My fiancé proposed to me looking over at Falmouth from Trefusis point on the other side of the river. He knew I loved it because my Grandparents used to live there and I spent my childhood holidays in and around Falmouth. It would be amazing to spend a mini moon there together in this amazing hotel.

  57. My lovely other half took me on a mini break to Cornwall for our first mini holiday together and it would be amazing to go back for a minimoon! In saving for the wedding we’ve been cheap with holidays and accommodation (friends sofas, hostels) so it would be amazing to have an indulgent break! X

  58. It would be magical if we won this stay. We are getting married at the end of May and would love to stay in Cornwall for a few days after to relax and unwind. What a treat it would be xx

  59. Because i am cornish, my son is called Piran and i am getting married in St Agnes to my beautiful fiancee katy. …and i dont holiday abroad (anywhere past the tamar!) a mini moon in kernow would be perfection…it being god’s country and all! Kernow bys vyken!!

  60. My fiancée and I are getting married in Spring and we are both very excited, unfortunately he being sent away with work soon after (a day or two after our wedding) and it looks like we won’t get a proper honeymoon. A few nights R&R in Cornwall would be absolutely wonderful, as this is somewhere we had planned on going in the near future- possibly on his return in the Summer. This would be a magical prize.

  61. This looks truly lovely, after having our son this year we can’t afford our dream honeymoon, looks like a perfect place will definitely look to book for after our wedding valentines day 2016! 🙂 x

  62. Would absolutely ❤️❤️❤️to go to Cornwall for our honeymoon!!!!my fiancé is Scottish and has never been any further south than Bristol and Cornwall and its amazing beaches would blow his mind

  63. This sounds like the perfect mini-moon for my future husband-to-be and I – we live in Devon and are crossing the Tamar river to marry in Cornwall in July! Cornwall will always be a special place to us, and a stay at St Michaels Hotel would be a blissful way to start our new wedded life together. Should we win, we promise to take our afternoon tea the Cornish way – jam first!

  64. I would love to win a mini-moon as a surprise for my husband to be, he works incredibly hard and is an amazing daddy to our little princess, this would be a perfect gift.xx

  65. Cornwall for me is my little piece of heaven. Wonderful childhood memories body-boarding with my big sis whilst dad cast a protective eye on us from the shore, mum behind the windbreak with her flask of tea. An unexpected proposal whilst watching the boats over the Camel Estuary really just made me love it so much more and I cannot think of anywhere better to start making our own amazing memories <3

  66. I have just moved to Aberdeen, the sea side “mecca” of the north of Scotland, to be with Mr. Fiancé pants. There are technically tonnes of similarities between Aberdeen and Cornwall…
    1. Seagulls (in abundance, cannot possibly be the size of small dogs in Cornwall);
    2. Beaches (Aberdeen’s are afloat with oil tankers which does not makes for a pleasant dip in ones bikini, that is, if the temperature reaches the heady heights of plus 15 degrees Celsius
    3. A love of pastry; Cornwall loves a good old pasty, Aberdonians love nothing more than a lard filled buttery (still struggling to buy into this fetish)
    4. Cows; did you know there are 45,000 cows in Cornwall?! Apparently this makes for fabulous ice cream (admittedly our northern cows do make a rather tasty steak).
Please make myself and Mr. Fiancé pants summer and give us the chance for a warm(ish) paddle, a proper pasty feast and a bucket load of ice cream…it’s the simples pleasures after all xx

  67. We would absolutely love the chance to win this experience. My fiancé and I adore Cornwall as we spent a lot of our childhood summers there. We are hoping to move there in the future to raise a family as we love the South of the UK and the beach. As my fiancé travels a lot we won’t have time to have a proper honey moon after our wedding and were planning to have a tiny break away so this would be perfect!

  68. wow! What a beautiful place. My husband to be went on our 1st holiday together in Cornwall this was just over ten years ago. It would be great to go back and after the pre wedding diet sample afternoon tea and the Flying Fish!

  69. me and my husband to be would love to win this for our honeymoon as it looks stunning but also i lost my mum 3 days before christmas. after a long hard battle with leukaemia. we had to spend a big chunk of our wedding fund on my mums funeral. which we gave up our honeymoon for. which im not complaining because my mum was a beautiful strong women and deserved one last special day and she always wanted to go to cornwall. so it would be wonderful if we had won this. as my mums last wish was to see me get married.

  70. We’d love to come Back to cornwall for our mini moon, we had our first family holiday there in May when we took our newborn Ted. Ted is our miracle baby that I didn’t think I could have, parenthood before marriage has been a busy path but will completely worth it when we wed on March the 28th, a mini moon would mean so much to us, you never appreciate a bed so much until you become parents haha! We would love to relax after our wedding that is the icing on the cake to our little family xx

  71. Cornwall is such a beautiful part of the country and what a great place this would be to spend time after getting married! Would love to enjoy the scenery and delicious food on a mini moon before heading back to work after the wedding 🙁

  72. To win our mini-moon in Cornwall,
Would be an absolute dream come true.
From the lavish start of chilled bubbly,
To the devine taster dinner for two.

    Cornwall is a special place,
One which we have together loved to share.
What better way to begin our marriage,
We can really let down our hair.

The Cornish make the worlds best scones,
Please do not tell our Devon mate.
An afternoon tea at the St Michaels Hotel,
What could be a better way to celebrate?

  73. My fiancé and I got back from Australia where we lived for 18 months. When we got back we said we would take every opportunity to visit beautiful British spots (as we had done so much in Oz). We’ve been cycling in the Scottish highlands, and he proposed on holiday in the Peak District. We have Cornwall next on our list and the beautiful St Michaels Hotel would be the perfect way to do it for our mini-moon! Xxx

  74. Having 3 young children a honeymoon is not in our plans. But we would love to have 3 nights away just as husband and wife and no better place than Cornwall. As from a young age all my holidays have been in Devon and i absolutely love it but one of the places I have always wanted to visit is cornwall and no better way to spend it with my newly husband. I have always wanted to learn how to surf and would finish the mini moon off perfect for me to try and book surfing lessons for us both. X

  75. We are super excited to be getting married in Cornwall this August. A mini-moon at the gorgeous St Michaels hotel would be a dream come true. Utter luxury in our favourite place in the UK. Thanks for the opportunity to win RMW! Mike&Ellen x

  76. I would love to win this as me and my fiancé are getting married in August but due to limited funds we are not having a honeymoon. This would be a perfect surprise for him, not to mention a lovely pamper for me! 🙂

  77. we had our first holiday together in Cornwall (St Ives). We truly loved every moment as the beaches were all beautiful, people are so friendly and local food was delicious! However, we could only afford camping and it rained a lot! We always said we would return one day and stay in a posh hotel.
We just got married 23rd December and it has been so hectic with my work and the hubbies post graduate studies it would be amazing to have an excuse to get away for 3 days together so we can just chill out and reflect on our wonderful wedding day!

  78. OMG this is describes everything we have been searching for in our mini moon! We get married on 30th August this year and as we (will by then) have a 3 year old and and 8 month old we literally only want a couple of nights away as I don’t want to be too far away or for too long. Me and my fiancé were only together 6 months before I fell pregnant (oops) and so this mini moon is our only chance to have a bit of luxury time alone for quite some time! This would make my year! Xx

  79. As ex-pats in Australia, we are no strangers to surf
But how wonderful to ride waves on our very own turf?
To relax and unwind on Cornwall’s beautiful shores
And contemplate our future: 10 tiny toes or 4 paws?
To walk long beaches and eat freshly-caught fish
(We both agree it’s the most delicious dish)
Some time together before the long-haul flight, the question to ponder
Is it true what they say, that absence really does make the heart grow fonder..?

  80. I love Cornwall! It’s the only place me and my fiancé have ever been away together and we only went for 3 days as we couldn’t afford any longer. We truly loved every minute there and would love to be able to visit again. So romantic!

  81. To escape the big city and busy hospital ward to relax on this mini moon after our wedding in July would be the icing on the cake to this exciting but hectic year. Sun, sea and some Cornish air will allow my future husband and I to escape the stresses of life and really focus on being together for a few special days. We are keeping everything crossed. Thanks for the opportunity, love Sarah and Matthew

  82. We went on holiday to Cornwall for the first time in September 2013, and swiftly agreed it was the best holiday we’d ever had! We often talk about going back, and we look at where we might stay, things we might do, places we might eat… Spending our mini-moon in Cornwall, pottering round the beautiful coastline, eating amazing seafood and spending a few days with just each other after all the excitement of the wedding would be a dream come true!

  83. We would love to stay here for a mini-moon! My fiance is proud to be from the South of England, and loves to spend time by the seaside, with the sand, sea and sun! We live in Warwickshire, right in the middle of England and it’s rare that we get the opportunity to head to the beach. Whilst being very proud to herald from the middle of England, I love relaxing with Afternoon Tea, and afternoon teas in Cornwall are the best there is!! A mini-moon in Cornwall would be perfect for us both, and would give us both the chance to unwind after the frantic wedding planning, studying for a Masters and working three jobs between us!

  84. Cornwall holds a place dear to our hearts – it reminds both of us of our childhoods but we have also taken some wonderful holidays there with both sides of our families all at the same time! It is a place that constantly reminds us of how lucky we are to have parents who not only get on but are willing to holiday together! What isn’t to love about beautiful landscapes, blue sea, cute as a button seaside towns and pubs and a lot of happy memories

  85. Having a tight wedding budget this would be the ultimate prize! We love Cornwall (fuelled by many happy childhood holiday memories!) Our minimoon plan was to travel down to Cornwall via as many National Trust properties as possible on the way, so this would really be the icing on the cake upon arrival at our destination!

  86. We spent our first holiday as an engaged couple in Cornwall – what a beautiful part of the world. To also spend our first holiday as husband and wife there would be amazing!

  87. We’re flying home for two weeks from New Zealand for our wedding in October and currently trying to figure out where to grab a quick mini moon before we return to NZ. This would certainly make the decision a lot easier, and earn me lots of wifey-brownie points for saving us a few pennies!

  88. Both me and my fiancé have just moved to the South West from Hampshire and Worcestershire respectively, and we need to explore our new home together!

  89. We would love to have a mini-moon in Cornwall, it’s one of the places on our ‘to visit’ list and we both love being by the sea. We’re not booking a honeymoon as we’re getting married in January (brr!) but I am sure a mini break will be much needed after the wedding!

  90. What a fabulous destination! We would love a mini-moon in Cornwall as we both have fond memories of childhood holidays in Cornwall and feel it would be a great way to start our life as a married couple.

  91. I have lived in Cornwall my whole life and do not feel the need to leave it for any reason, even a honeymoon! Plus with a baby on the way in July before our September wedding a local minimoon is a must for us!!

  92. We’ve never been and always wanted to go! Life has just always gotten in the way! I’m from very far away (Zimbabwe) and so our breaks have always been home, or where ever the relatives have settled; leaving the gems on our doorstep unexplored! I would love a mini-moon in cornwall, giving us the best excuse to go and a unique experience to go with!

  93. Amazing prize! We’ve been looking for a southern England beach location for a mini moon, as our wedding is on a tight budget and we definitely don’t want to go straight back to work! Great way to start as Mr and Mrs 🙂

  94. Would just love this mini moon break for me and my partner! We’ve both been working so hard recently and a break down to his home county would be a dream as we can’t afford any holiday this year thanks to saving – it would mean so much!

  95. cornwall is my all time fave place to be in the UK. Due to unemployment and illness I haven’t been able to visit for some time, I can not wait to go back!!!

  96. Alex and I get married this December after almost 10 years together. Our first holiday as a couple was to Cornwall and it would be lovely to go back as a married couple, especially as we can’t afford to go away straight after our wedding.

  97. We have always wanted to visit Cornwall – the food, the beaches, the relaxation after all the wedmin – it would be absolute bliss to be able to visit such a beautiful part of the world.

  98. My fiancé and I have a rather busy 2015.. Our first baby is due June and we get married in August. As an abroad honeymoon isn’t an option, this mini moon would be the perfect break for us 🙂

  99. We would love a mini moon in Cornwall as we got engaged there, and it is a place we love with huge personal significance to both of us. We can’t think of anywhere better! X

  100. Neither of us have been to cornwall yet and both want to…need to explore more of our home country!! We can’t afford a honeymoon and are thinking of doing a mini moon if we can and this just looks so luxorious and romantic!!

  101. Our first Cornish holiday as a couple started with a superb night at St Michaels…..fantastic food with a gorgeous view over the gardens, a lovely room and surrounded by the most superb scenery! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our engagement, date setting and to help us unwind together surrounded by such amazing memories before the big day itself!

  102. We would love the opportunity to spend our mini moon in Cornwall. With 5 children…all girls, we don’t get much time to relax. This would be the perfect place to unwind. My partner and I have never been to Cornwall and it’s a great excuse for us to spend time together in child free luxury!

  103. Looks absolutely beautiful! My fiancé and I can’t afford to go abroad what with the cost of the wedding! We have been looking for a relaxing spa break and this would be perfect as we both love Cornwall. Good luck all x

  104. We had our wedding in November and yet to take a honeymoon as we are still trying to pay off the the credit card! Looking forward to taking a break, Cornwall would be a perfect place to relax!

  105. Having lived in the South East all my life, I’ve never been to Cornwall. I hear so many good things about Cornwall but never seem to be able to sort out a time to go. This would give us a super opportunity to visit an amazing place and reconnect with each other after having out daughter two years ago.

  106. as a future military wife I understand the importance of having quality time, and the lack of it due to work commitments. I cannot think of something that would be more perfect for our mini moon as our honey moon is due to take place the year after our wedding so we have time to save and plan and hopefully not cancel due to last minute postings. We are reluctant to put any deposits down for this exact reason and therefore winning a romantic break in Cornwall really would be ideal for this June as we actually know we are both in the same country

  107. I would love to dream about having a lovely relaxing break away either with my lovely sister (who is my best friend 2!) or with the love of my life (which happens never since having the kids) thanks to my youngest being my little shadow (which I secretly love but need some ME time as she is over 3 now!! Good Luck Everyone

  108. We would absolutely love to win a mini moon in Cornwall. Your hotel looks beautiful, and spa treatments are an added bonus, especially just after a hectic year of wedding planning. I’ve grown up on holidays in Cornwall so it would be nice to revisit with my new husband. We also have a 1year old daughter so I don’t think we will be able to go abroad for a honeymoon, or leave her for a long period of time. So this would be absolutely perfect!

  109. We’re getting married in June, and this would be a perfect present for my new husband! We rarely get to spend time together since he joined the police, so a weekend here would be fantastic quality time.

  110. hi RMW
When I saw this it stopped me in my tracks. We are getting married in July this year but a special person won’t be there. Adam my fiancé is my hero, his father had a massive sudden heart attack just over a year ago now. We were the first on the scene in the early hours, he immediately checked his dad’s breathing and pulse and went into what I call hero mode. We performed cpr together until the ambulance crew arrived. It was the most challenging thing I have ever done but it had bought us so close with a very special bond. His dad survived long enough for Adams sister to say her last goodbye after flying all the way from her home in Perth Australia. Unfortunately 2 hours after she arrived at the hospital with us all by the bedside Michael, their dad, passed away. From this moment Adam has focused on fundraising for the British heart foundation. He cycled 450 miles in 2 days from his dad’s house to St michaels mount in France and raised a whopping £6000! I’m so proud of him. It would be super ace for us to relax after our wedding after what has been a stressful year. Thanks for reading x x x

  111. My fiancé just started his own business so it will be super awesome to take him from it all and force him to relax! A challenge to you too, could you chill him out for 3 whole days? Some us time will mean the world to us so pretty please 🙂

  112. My fiancée and I are moving back home to Ireland after 6 years in Australia. We have such a busy year ahead with the move, my sisters wedding, my 30th birthday in June and our wedding in October of this year!!
I am planning a mini moon for us in the comming months so we can take time out before our wedding to relax and enjoy this precious and big year! Cornwall would be amazing especially as my partner and I have never been!
We would love the opportunity to see what Cornwall is all about and try the authentic Cornish pasties that they get so wrong here in oz! ☺️
Thank you for the opportunity, the prize sounds just perfect.
    Dee xx

  113. My boyfriend and I have been to Cornwall twice, and it’s rained both times. Would love to try third time lucky for some sunshine. Cornwall is very special to us, it’s where we took our first family holiday with our two children and it’s also where we have spent our only weekend away since becoming parents, so was an obvious choice for him to propose. He had made me a hand made heart shaped ring from sterling silver wire as a placeholder ring. My Mum said it looked like it was made from a paperclip, but I loved it 🙂 Would be a very special and very much welcomed time away.

  114. We are getting married in June and are already planning to spend our honeymoon in beautiful Cornwall but we are waiting until after the wedding to book it, it would be a dream come true for us to escape busy London for a few days to relax in this amazing hotel! X

  115. We would love to win this competition and go to Cornwall for a mini-moon! My parents went to Cornwall on their honeymoon and we would love to visit and see the places they’ve told us about

  116. We would love to win this mini moon as we are getting married in late may after 10 years together. I spent many years in Devon and Cornwall as a child on holidays camping at different surf spots with my dad. Me and my fiance spend our first holiday together in St Ives, at the age of 15 camping with my family, where we planned to travel every costal town in Cornwall together and return with our own children in the future . In 2007 my partner had an accident at work that prevented us from achieving our dream, but much closer as a couple. We 10 years on and a daughter of our own, from that first camping holiday in Cornwall, are finally tieing the knot. It would be lovely to celebrate the start of our adventures together as a married couple in Cornwall with a stay at St Michaels.
Best of Luck and Congratulations to all the happy couples on your wedding days. X

  117. i’m working in vienna/austria and my husband is working in london most of the time. Since we didn’t go on honeymoon after our wedding in june and we’ve never been anywhere in the uk than in london, this minimoon would be the perfect occasion for us, spending romantic time together. As an austrian girl i’ve always wanted to visit cornwall someday!

  118. My fiancé and j have just recently got engaged. We have been together almost 11 years. Since I was 17. We went to Cornwall/Devon on our 10 yr engagement camping. Be nice to mini moon in style 🙂

  119. My fiancé is from Cornwall but now we live so far away it’s difficult to get back there very often and spend any quality time there.
In the summers when we do manage to get there, we spend our time discovering new places (and re-discovering a lot for him).
To win this mini-moon would be amazing as it would mean we could spend some more time in one of our favourite places.

  120. Wow, that would be amazing! My boyfriend and I are french, but living and working in UK, we haven’t visited yet Cornwall (we live near Manchester) but we would really love to, so having a mini-moon would be just perfect to discover the area… Fingers crossed now!
(I was already signed up for the newsletter by the way 🙂 )
    Bonne journée !

  121. We would be chuffed to bits to win a mini moon at St Michaels Hotel and Spa! It looks completely up our street and I’m so glad that this competition has brought this haven to our attention, it’s definitely going on the ‘places we must visit’ wishlist.

My fiancé Craig and I are getting married on April 17th, a mere 9 weeks time! But due to planning on buying our first home this year we’ve decided to postpone any honeymoon plans and put our extra pennies into our house for now. A small sacrifice we’re both happy to make. But it does mean that if we were lucky enough to win this competition it would not just be a mini moon for us but a full moon! A honeymoon! And from looking at their website I don’t think there is anywhere else I’d rather spend 3 wonderful days with my new husband!

St Michaels looks completely ideal! Real Cornish afternoon tea’s? Yes please! As a baker any opportunity to gorge on beautiful scones and cakes is a dream… and yes I absolutely take mine the Cornish way (Jam on bottom, cream on top of course!). We’re both big foodies in general and would be so excited to experience fantastic local produce with the 6 course dining experience at The Flying Fish. And to top it off living in the lap of luxury surrounded by breath taking Cornish scenery and indulging in the blissful sounding spa treatments (don’t tell him I told you but future hubster is rather partial to a good sauna and a nice back massage!) We would be in heaven! What an amazing way to start our married lives together… and I’d be sure to drop a few hints to Craig for return anniversary trips!

  122. We are getting married in November but my fiancé is working overseas until September! It would be lovely to spend some time together in a great place we’ve both never been to!!

  123. We are planning a mini moon in Cornwall after our wedding in May and this would be absolutely perfect as St. Micheal’s was top of our list. Not only is it a fantastic location but it is such a relaxing and luxurious boutique hotel. A real gem of a place! It would just be the icing on the (wedding) cake after such a hectic time of planning the big day. AV x

  124. I have wanted to visit Cornwall for such a long time, but have never had the opportunity. My fiancé has just moved to England from Egypt and I really want to show him this beautiful part of England. A honeymoon in Cornwall would be the perfect romantic experience for is to share. A wonderful way to start our new future together!

  125. Having proposed in a beautiful corner of Cornish countryside and with our wedding reception taking place on the edge of a quiet Cornish creek, a mini moon at the luxurious St Michaels would be the perfect way to round off little wedding tale.

  126. I absolutely LOVE Cornwall! As a child I holidayed all around the county every summer, but hadn’t been back until last year, when I returned with my Australian fiancé on our Engagemoon. I wanted to show him what it is that makes me so proud to be English. The coastal walks, the cream teas, the wind breaker filled beaches, the quaint fishing villages, the beautiful views. It captured his heart as well. We now have a dream together to one day own a home there. We got married quickly a few months later and are expecting a baby girl in 4 months. We haven’t been able to have a honeymoon yet. It would be magical to have a mini moon back there and in such a stunning resort. I’m sure we’ll be in need of some chill out time by then too! Fingers crossed!

  127. My fiancé and I met in Cornwall and I’ve been searching for somewhere to stay for our mini moon over the last couple of weeks. A stay at St.michaels would be more than ideal!!! Please pick us!!! Xx

  128. I would love a trip to cornwall so I can steal my fiancé away from our business in blighty, leave our stresses behind and go running into the cold cornish sea!

  129. Our wedding day will be shared with our loved ones, and those we hold dear. My grandparents were such an inspiration in my life and with them no longer here to share our special day together it would be great to have the opportunity to spend time in a special place to them!! I’m sure they would be there in spirit to see us start our married life together

  130. We would love to go to Cornwall and stay at the St Michaels Hotel for our mini-moon. We have never been to Cornwall together despite going to Devon many times, so it would be a lovely first as Mr&Mrs. We love fish and the six course Cornish taster supper sounds divine and coupled with the fact that you have the best spa in Cornwall it sounds like the perfect post-wedding break. We would absolutely love to be picked for this treat!

  131. My Mrs spends hours on this website and I quietly noticed this competition the other day when she was reading a post. We’re getting Married in June this year and I’d love to be able to surprise her with a mini-moon to Falmouth. We went to university together in Falmouth and this amazing town had a lot to do with our relationship being the success it is. We used to go on walks to Maenporth and beyond, kayak out to the tankers and then come back to the beach for chips at Gylly beach cafe. I’ll admit that we used to swim at St Michael’s competitor, the (now burned down) Beach Spa resort next door to St Michael’s which my housemate worked in, but it was too posh for students to afford to go to! Having moved up north after graduating we’ve not been able to get back down in the intervening 4 years. I’d love to be able to surprise my other half by taking her back down for a few days and enjoying all of the places that are so special to us in style! Thanks

  132. My fiance is Portuguese and Cornwall is a place that he has never been to!!
I spent many family holidays in Cornwall when I was a child and it the most beautiful place, the beaches are to die for! I would love to win this competition so that I can share this picturesque place with my fiance, so that we can create our own memories there!

  133. I have always wanted to and to go surfing and strolling around the beach! I would love to come here with my husband and stroll about!

  134. We are lucky enough to live in beautiful Cornwall having moved last year! Finally getting married in 18 days (countdown is on!). Having two small girls together we don’t have a honeymoon booked yet or even a night away, so this would be amazing to win especially as we don’t have any family nearby for any support day to day, so we are majorly overdue some couple time since having our girls. This would be massively appreciated for our sanity and to celebrate our marriage! 😉

  135. My fiancé is Cornish, we live in bristol now but it would be lovely to spend some time there together. He went to uni in Falmouth and we don’t often get to spend much time there 🙂

  136. Cornwall is beautiful and reminds me of family holidays as a child. It’s somewhere I’ve always loved and I can’t wait to share that with my lovely OH. ☺️

  137. Cornwall evokes beautiful memories of childhood holidays spent running around on the beach, rock-pooling and paddling in the sea, in all manner on weathers! Cornwall is my favourite place in the world, somewhere I have always felt content and happy and I would be delighted to spend the first few days of married life with that same sense of contentment at St Michaels Hotel & Spa in beautiful Falmouth.

  138. I would love to win this mini moon and wisk my gorgeous man away. Were getting married in 25 would be a fantastic end to a fabulous 18months spent planning our day 🙂 xx

  139. We would so dearly love to mini-moon at St Michaels. The day after my fiancé and I first met (and kissed!), I went on a break to Tregowan Bay with my lovely (single) gal pals and it was such an amazing place but my strongest memory is just how much I couldn’t wait to see my now fiancé again and how I wished he could be there with me! I just knew I’d met the one. I would love us to go back together and soak in those magical beaches and local seafood. We get married in just 25 days. Please make this come true for us! Thank you Rock My Wedding – you’ve rocked our world since we got engaged. You’re inspirational!

  140. We both love fish and beaches and especially love eating fish and enjoying beaches together which will be even more fabulous once married xx

  141. Hopefully to be able to fit in all the below Cornwall has to offer with my beautiful fiancé (in no particular order)

  142. Myself and my partner Dan have been together 9yrs and, after lots of saving, are getting married this August in Cornwall! We have very fond memories of Cornwall; I commuted to Cornwall every other weekend for the first few years we were together, spending weekends at the beach. After a year of health issues a Cornwall honeymoon, a place we love, would be perfect!x

  143. My fiancé proposed in Cornwall in December 2012…

We met in 2001 and fell head over heels, but didn’t quite get it together (we were young…….!) We went our separate ways. Then in 2011, both with unhappy long term relationships behind us, we got back in touch. We are so excited to be finally getting married… A mini moon back in Cornwall would be the icing on the cake :):)

  144. We’ve spent many happy times in Cornwall, from the beginning of our relationship and our 800-mile round trip weekend “mini adventures”, to week long camping breaks almost 10 years down the line! A break here would be lovely after our wedding to reminisce about all the great times we’ve had and to make some more great memories to start married life! Fingers crossed!

  145. I have heard that this place is BEAUTIFUL!! At te minute it doesn’t look like I can afford a honeymoon or a minim ion so I would love love love I be able to relax for a few days in a different place with my very special husband to be xx

  146. A mini moon in Cornwall would be a dream come true! I grew up in Plymouth and my summers were spent on the beach in Cornwall looking for blue ‘stones’ (smooth glass) in the sand with my sisters and cousins. Plus my childhood dog, Tilly was from Gyllyngvase! I would love to take my hubby to the beaches I grew up on, and go exploring the beautiful Cotnish countryside on bikes. And to stay at St Michaels would be the cherry on top of an awesome cake, it is such a beautiful hotel.

  147. I would love to win this as me and my husband havent ever been to cornwall and it would be lovely to be able to go away for our first wedding anniversary in April 🙂

  148. I haven’t been to Cornwall since I was about 7… Awful I know! We’ve been meaning to visit for a while. My Fiancé definitely deserves a spa break in a beautiful location.

We’re committed to holidaying in the UK this year and this looks perfect! X

  149. Dear Rock my Wedding-Team,
we live in Germany, but will get married in England in my fiancés hometown. I’ve never been to Cornwall (and always wanted to go!! :D) and we both love surfing – it would make us soo happy to spend a lovely minimoon there! 🙂 So fingers crossed and thanks for the great ideas I get from Rock my Wedding! Can’t wait for our big day! 😉

  150. My fiance and I have decided against an exotic honeymoon after our wedding as we’re frantically saving to buy our first house, but a mini-moon in Cornwall would more than make up for that as in my opinion, Cornwall is just as beautiful as any Caribbean island!

  151. Cool, hip, relaxing and stunning…..what more could a newlywed couple need to start their marriage! Yes please Cornwall. Hope to meet you soon….♥

  152. I would love to win a mini moon in Cornwall because:
C- c stands for Cornish food, love the pasties, the cream teas and when we got engaged in Cornwall we celebrated with traditional afternoon tea
O- o stands for outstanding views. Nothing beats the rugged coastline of cornwall, the wild windy waves crashing against the beaches and the beautiful lush green gardens like trebah and heligan which are my favourite places
R- r stands for romance. Cornwall is my fiances favourite place and that’s where he proposed at the top of Tintagel castle watching the bay
N- n stands for no money! The financial state we are in means we can afford the wedding but no honeymoon sadly so this would be amazing
W- w stands for when we can we go when we win?? This is me trying to be ultra positive and putting this out there in to the universe (a girl has got to try! Lol)
A – a stands for artists, love the light in Cornwall and so do the many artists who flock there and I love mooching round the galleries trying to be inspired
L- l stands for living for the moment. If you don’t try then you will never know, chances in life don’t come by twice hence why I am embarrassing myself by writing this pathetic attempt at a witty poem…
L – l stands for love. Not least or lastly but my fiancé has been an absolute rock this last year helping me through job loss and a nervous breakdown and without his constant support and ability to listen and love I am not sure how I would have coped. If we could win this for him as he would love this so much then this would be the biggest thank you I could give. All spelling out Cornwall, where our journey together started.. Thank you.

  153. I’m from Cheshire and my fiancé is from West Yorkshire. He has the fondest memories of getting the train (through to night!) down to Cornwall with his parents, brother and sister. They would play cards, eat a packed lunch and he would try and stay awake for as long as he could! I personally have never been to Cornwall (or anywhere on the south coast!) and I would absolutely love to get a chance to visit there with him, to relive his memories and make lots of new ones together as a married couple xx

  154. If I become a wife & won a mini moon all in 1 week I would literally be the happiest girl in the whole world!!!!!!!!!! Marrying my best friend & knowing we’d be able to have a honeymoon as a newly married couple would be a dream as right now we have only the money to pay for our wedding and not a honeymoon! Cornwall is a beautiful place & would be the perfect magical start to the beginning of the rest of our lives. What a dream!!!
Fingers crossed x & good luck everyone & hope you have the bestest wedding day EVER!!

  155. I would love to win this opportunity to stay in this beautiful hotel in Cornwall to surprise my fiancé. She has had been so busy at work recently and we spend all of our spare time renovating our house, it would be amazing to surprise her with a holiday! We have spent all of our savings on the wedding and our house, so this will be our honeymoon!
