Inspiration

It's smiles all round at this Yorkshire Wedding Barn with an outdoor wedding ceremony decorated in beautiful florals and a stunning bride walking down the aisle in a homemade wedding dress she and her mum had designed and made together. The couple and guests enjoyed food from a rustic tipi called Eat Shed which the groom had managed to persuade to cater their wedding after they first saw them at a festival and the barn was lit with hundreds of fairy lights.

What Made Our Day Unique

We really enjoyed being able to make use of the Wedding Barn and the bar the night before the wedding and to have most of our guests stay on-site for the whole weekend. This meant that all our friends and family were able to meet and settle in ahead of the big day. It created a lovely atmosphere which helped us to relax. Another thing which was important to us was having our two chihuahuas, Pepe and Arabella, there. They were able to stay with our family over the weekend and watch us walk down the aisle.

Yorkshire Wedding Barn

The location for this incredibly romantic day was the Yorkshire Wedding Barn, with Emily & Sam's photographer Jessica Reeve and florist Lucy making the day extra special with their captures and floral creations. Lucy designed the most wonderful, unique arrangements in pastel shades and introduced them to their Photographer Jessica Reeve as they had worked together before. Making the couple feel totally at ease, Jessica captured the essence of this outdoor wedding beautifully. I love all the wedding guest pictures as well as the couple portraits because they really tell the story of everyone having the time of their lives.

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted a laid back, relaxed vibe on the day. We knew we wanted lots of flowers and a floral arch during the ceremony to complement the views of the countryside overlooking the lake. Our florist Lucy created the most stunning bouquets and floral décor. These included a variety of wildflowers and pastel colours which tied in perfectly with the setting.

Wedding Dress

After trying on a few wedding dresses, my mum and I decided to take on the task of designing and making the dress ourselves. It took a long time to source the fabric but once we found this, the design and fitting process was so much fun. I loved being able to create something totally unique which fit my vision perfectly. It was hard work though and we were adjusting and adding to the dress and the veil right up until the day before the wedding.
