Inspiration

Earlier this year, we ran a competition with Pimm's for one lucky couple to win £8000 to spend with our wedding directory, The List. The lovely Jade and Daniel were our winners and they have been busily spending their winnings on services from some of the industry's loveliest and most talented suppliers. But how far does £8000 get you? What does this sum cover and how did Jade and Daniel chose to spend it? Whenever we speak to our readers, the single most requested thing from you is transparency over budgets and so today, we're doing just that. We know it's not very British to talk about money, but sometimes it's helpful, so stiff upper lip people, let's talk cold hard cash...
Prioritise What Is Important To You
Jade and Daniel have been absolute masters of making the most of their money and if I had one piece of advice for you when it comes to budgeting, it would be to follow their lead and prioritise what is important to you. "As our venue doesn't charge corkage, we were planning to provide all of the alcohol ourselves. We are therefore really excited that we can use the biggest chunk of the prize money to work with The Dawdling Duck bar and make sure that our guests enjoy themselves at our drinks and evening receptions. We also really wanted to have some beautiful flower displays, including flower arches and large urns, to create a visual impact at both the church and reception venue and Daisy Ellen Floral Designs has been perfectly suited for this job! Our next biggest priority was to create some personal stationery including an illustrated table plan based on our travels together which we can keep forever - Wildflower Illustration Co. have been wonderful at helping us out here."
£8000 {The Breakdown}
Jade and Daniel narrowed down a list of things they'd like to spend their money on, and team RMW helped connect them with the suppliers on The List who were right for the job. Firstly, a bar. Luckily, the wonderful Dawdling Duck team are based in Kent, not far from Jade and Daniel's wedding venue, Wadhurst Castle. Next up - keeping the guests happy. Sound Generation were on hand to help advise on what kind of music would work best for Jade and Daniel's drinks reception. "We hadn't previously considered having a Gypsy Jazz band but after Sound Generation introduced us to Nouveau Boheme we can't wait to hear their trio play at our drinks reception." Our couple have booked a photo booth from PROP and purchased a beautiful bespoke guest book from Hartnack & Co. Jade has also ordered a 'something blue' headpiece from the lovely Holly Young. Using The List to book suppliers couldn't be easier as you can search The List via location and by supplier type, as well as saving all of your favourites to revisit in the future. The detailed listings mean you can find out everything you need to know about the suppliers and then contact them directly using the enquiry form. We're constantly singing the praises of these amazing wedding professionals, but just in case you need to hear it from someone else... "The suppliers who we have worked with from The List have been very responsive and extremely helpful - definitely amongst some of the best wedding suppliers we have worked with. We are really enjoying planning the details of the day with people who are clearly experts at what they do."
