Jemma and Ollie married at Larmer Tree Gardens in Dorset this summer. Their wedding was all about the personal touches from twinkling fairy lights to imports from Thailand. There are vintage roses, peonies, birdcages, a killer Vivienne Westwood suit and games.
So sit back and feast your eyes on the gorgeous images below captured by Lucy Davenport.
Oh, and please can more brides hold their dresses up? You can never see too much shoe. Ever.
Badminton anyone?
Delicate Details
I bought my dress from Beautiful Bridal Boutique. It was Amanda wakeley. It had really delicate detailing on the straps. My shoes were from Next and complimented the detail on my dress perfectly.
Simple Vintage
For my hair, I wanted a simple vintage look to show off the detail on the back of the dress. I bought Some hydrangeas for my hair from Etsy and finished my look off with a vintage brooch cuff, also from Etsy and some simple vintage droplet earrings from Beautiful Bridal Boutique.
Bombastic Blooms
My flowers were from Ena’s Florists and were a mix of soft Bombastic vintage roses, Sandblast, Amnesia roses and Peonies.
Brogues And Button Holes
The Groomsmen wore burgundy and cream polka dot Vintage bow ties by Peckham Rye. Ollie wore a Vivienne Westwood suit from John Anthony clothing, teamed with Crockett and Jones tan brogues, a Vivienne Westwood shirt, braces from Mr Porter and a vintage amnesia rose button hole.
A Chance Meeting
Our photographer was Lucy Davenport. We actually met on holiday after the engagement!
Coconut, Strawberry And Vanilla
Our cake was from Foxes cupcakes. We had a top tier and a selection of cupcakes that were a mix of lime and coconut, strawberry and cream and vanilla with soft butter icing with vintage rose and pearl decor…yummy!
Florence And Funk
We had Bob Povey playing funky house with Cass on the bongos which was fun and a great way of getting people up to boogie! We also had The brightside Band playing jazz funk. Our first dance was to Florence and the machine’s ‘You’ve got the love’.
Lucky Favours
Our favours were tiny peuter buddahs in bird cage favour boxes imported from thailand. We travelled there many times and Thai people consider them lucky!
Vintage Finds
We had a few special items in our décor including a handmade wishing tree and birdcages filled with silk flowers and fairy lights. Our card box was a vintage suitcase. We also had a vintage steamer trunk dress up box. These were collected from car boots and ebay. The candy bar sign and photo booth were both handmade and from Etsy.
Personal Touches
Our wedding was full of individual pieces that we put time into making. It was the personal touches like the Buddhas and the photo booth collection that made our day special.
Contrasting Colour Palettes
My advice would be to go with your heart. Research around online to find colour palettes to contrast your bridesmaids and flowers (sometimes colours you think won’t work and they really do when you get them together)
Boutique – Beautiful Bridal Boutique
Hair – A’Courts Hair Salon
Shoes – Next
Grooms Suit – Vivienne Westwood from John Anthony
Photographer – Lucy Davenport
Live Music – The Brightside Band
Venue – Larmer Tree Gardens
Florist – Ena’s Florists
Cake – Fox’s Cupcake Co
So there you have it folks. I love Jemmas advice on being adventurous and trying things that perhaps in your mind won’t work but when put together in reality look better than you could ever have imagined.
I’m off to meditate after all this talk of Buddahs.
Love and wishing tree dreams

That dress is totally stunning and really stands out in a sea of (equally v pretty!) fitted lace dresses. Love the little decor touches and love love love the photo of the bride and groom laughing – their instant reaction to whatever made them laugh is exactly the same, what’s that thing about being in love and mimicking actions. So lovely – congrats!
Ohai Becky!
What a lovely looking couple. Get on those pearly whites, massive tooth envy. Such a pretty wedding. xx
@Daphné Isn’t it gorgeous?! It suits her so well. And that is one of my favourite photos…that and the last one in the rain. Love.
@Karen I KNOW! Beautiful smiles or WHAT!

A very gorgeous couple to go with a very beautiful wedding!
I love the dress!! xxx
I love the way Jemma’s dress is so pure and virginal but then its perfectly frames her cheeky little tattoo at the back.
Pretty naughty! xx
I love a man in a bow tie and braces! And I am seriously lusting after those mossy letter numbers. Just scrummy!
But perhaps my favourite touch is Jemma’s bracelet/cuff because it is blinkin’ gorgeous and complements her dress perfectly.
What a perfect Friday morning wedding!
@Karen – Loving the tattoo!
@Amy – I’ll try and get a shot of the bridesmaids from the photographer 🙂
@JenniR – Rain doesn’t have to spoil a day does it? Super gorgeous.
Ooooo groomsmen look ace!! *runs off to pin*!!

And have to agree the pic of them laughing together is perfect! 🙂 xxx

Larmer Tree Gardens is a truly delightful venue with beautiful grounds. Lucy you have a wonderful set of images here. The chaps look very dapper in those brown brogues!
Thank you all so much for the lovely comments. I’m totally thrilled to have my work published on RMW, and even more so to be able to share Jem and Ollie’s wedding.
The team at RMW have asked me to send over a pic of the bridesmaid dresses so I will do so when I return as I’m currently away avoiding the UK weather!
