FAQS
Where are you based?
I'm based in Manchester but I travel throughout the UK and also shoot destination weddings so feel free to pack me up and take me away with you.
Whats the most important aspect of selecting a photographer?
Selecting someone who is going to capture your wedding is such a personal choice. There are so many fantastic photographers out there its sometimes hard to know where to start. My one constant piece of advice has always been to never select a photographer based on their images alone. It's a strange concept to think that aside from each other, your photographer is most likely going to be the person who is around you the most on your wedding day. It's sometimes overlooked but you really need to gel well with whoever is behind the camera. That person needs to be able to keep you calm during the inevitably nervous moments and make you feel comfortable to get the most natural pictures of you as a couple. Always arrange to have a coffee or get to know your photographer before making a choice. If you feel like 10 minutes chatting is like dragging your knuckles down a brick wall... imagine what they'll do to you across a full wedding day!
What do you love most about shooting weddings?
In short . . . I've always thought that it's a privilege to be part of people's wedding days. The emotions that come with the day has always been a driving force behind my photography and capturing this, whether its the nerves during morning prep, the laughter ( normally in the form of you slowly dying of embarrassment) during the speeches or the looks of pure unadulterated love between couples just after they officially tie the knot . . . it's these moments why I love doing what I do . . . plus free cake (who doesn't love cake?)
One piece of advice for couples getting married?
You do you! Whether you want a more traditional wedding with 150-200 people or you just want to elope, the two of you are the most important element of the day, don't forget this and let it warp into something you don't want.
