Tell me about Chyknell Hall Estate?

Chyknell is a private estate nestled in the rolling acres of Shropshire’s exquisite countryside. The property maintains the traditions and vitality of an English sporting estate, with deep connections to both heritage and nature. Chyknell is first mentioned in country records in 1209 when it was owned by the De Checkenhull family who gave the estate its name. The grade II listed regency residence was built in 1814 and stands today as a testament to elegant living.

What can I expect from a wedding at Chyknell?

Nestled in beautifully manicured gardens and 200 acres of carefully tended parkland, your wedding will have a quintessentially English country feel. With the ability to stage Marquees, Yurts, and other venue styles, we can accommodate all your wedding plans. There is no accommodation in the hall yet, but provision for changing pre and post service is available. Claverly village church, the home of England’s “Bayeux tapestry” is a two-minute drive away and welcomes couples to be married there. If you decide to let us host your wedding, You will have a direct line to the experienced Chief of Staff and Operations manager to help you plan your day.

What is availability?

As a new start up this year, we have many available weekends and weekdays.

Is there accommodation?

Yes, the Annexe is attached to the main hall and is a beautiful lounge and two double bedrooms. These have parking and access to the house courtyard, gym, pool and tennis court. The Gamekeepers Lodge is also available. This has a large conservatory, lounge and kitchen. With two double bedrooms. An ideal bridal suite and area to prepare for the big day!

Can I get married on the Estate?

We have a wedding licence, and you can be married here in a civil ceremony, using the dining room, loggia or cloud hedge!
