FAQS
When should I book my cake?
I would definitely say the earlier the better! As soon as you have secured your date and venue, I would recommend getting in touch to check my availability. My diary starts to fill up 2 years in advance so I would always recommend booking as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
Do you deliver?
Yes I deliver all over the Scottish Highlands and Islands and further afield. I always reccommend my couples factor in delivery costs to their overall cake budget as travelling with a tiered cake in your car can be stressful. There are so many factors to consider; the condition of the roads, other road users or the weather outside. Where wedding cakes are collected from my premises, full responsibility of the cakes' safety will lie with yourself.
How much should I budget for my cake?
Cake budget is a question I always ask at initial enquiry. Specifying your budget at the very beginning allows me to design your cake within that and to ensure I am the cake maker for you. Cakes are very time precious work and along with cost of ingredients, electricity, skill level etc. these are all reflected in the end cost. My 2023/24 prices start from £425 for buttercream wedding cakes and £625 for fondant wedding cakes (excluding delivery).
How do I secure my date?
Once we have had an initial discussion to ensure we are the right match for each other, your date can be secured with a non-refundable deposit of £100. This is then deducted from the remaining balance of your cake. Design, flavours, sizing can all be decided later on but by securing your wedding cake maker early on, will definitely avoid disappointment.
Do you offer cake tasting sessions?
Yes, as part of your wedding cake journey, I hold cake tasting sessions either in-house or by zoom call - for online sessions, your tasting box will be posted out to you. Contact me for more details.
