Where Are You Based?

I’m a Lake District Wedding Photographer based in Cockermouth which borders the Lake District National Park and is the Gateway to the Lorton Valley and the lakes of Bassenthwaite, Crummock Water, Loweswater and Buttermere.

What Is Your Photography Style?

I find that good wedding photography is a fusion of a number of different disciplines from documentary photography to portrait photography, but it also needs to be fun. As such I would describe my wedding photography style as relaxed. I also like to see colour in photos, and even though I stamp my own editing style on photographs if the sky is blue and the grass is green I want to see those colours come through in a photograph.

How Long Have You Been Photographing Weddings?

I took a camera out at a wedding for the first time in 2012 but I was actually at the wedding as a makeup artist, a job I have done since 2007. The more I worked in the wedding industry, the more fascinated I became by wedding photography which always seemed to be such a brilliant job. I started the move from makeup to photography by assisting and second shooting, and photographed my first wedding on my own in 2018 when I started Jaye-Peg Photography (it’s a great name, right?!). Since then I have photographed weddings big and small all over the Lake District and I absolutely love it! So much so that it’s all I now do.

What Type Of Wedding Do You Prefer Photographing?

Weddings come in all shapes and sizes and I pretty much love photographing all of them, whatever they might be. I have absolutely no preference whatsoever. Elopement weddings are great because they are the ultimate romantic getaway where I get to have quality time with the couple getting married. Big full day weddings have so much going on that you get so many brilliant photo opportunities all day long. LGBTQ+ weddings are a celebration of love and diversity that are joyous to be a part of it. What is important is that your wedding should be your day exactly as you want it to be, and for me to be part of it means that I coming along on your journey for the day and what’s not to love about that!

How Much Do You Charge For Wedding Photography?

I offer wedding photography packages for full day celebrations as well as elopement weddings. All of my up to date pricing is on my website and if you would like to have a chat about your day, just let me know what your requirements are and we can go from there.

Jaye was fantastic! Our package included a pre-wedding shoot and for Jaye to capture our whole wedding day. The photos for both turned out amazing, just what we wanted, and Jaye really knew what she was doing. She immediately put us at ease and it felt natural as Jaye was so discreet. She was also very kind with my Mum who is disabled and wanted to try and stand for the photos. Jaye went above and beyond to make sure this happened and we can't thank her enough for making a lasting memory for my Mum. Additionally, interacting with Jaye was a breeze. She also delivered our photos when she said she would and protected our privacy when asked not to share photos.
