FAQS
“How soon should I book you?”
2024 are booking fast and I have had bookings for 2025 already, so I would advise the earlier you book the better. I normally get booked between nine months to two years before the wedding day. Therefore I would always recommend booking as soon as you have made your choice so that you can move on to the next important item on your wedding ‘to do’ list.
“Do you travel?”
Simple answer is - Yes! I’m still waiting to join the overseas club and shoot abroad, however I did have a wedding booked in for 2021 which was going to take me to Zante in Greece but due to COVID-19 that has unfortunately been postponed. I’m lucky enough to have visited so many great areas & venues locally and all over the south of England. If you have a wedding anywhere in the UK, and overseas that you would like to discuss, i’d love to be part of it. Travel on the wedding day is included within 60 miles of DA7 (Kent). Then charged at 0.45p per mile.
“Have you worked at my venue before?”
If you are getting married in Kent, Essex and London, the chances are I have worked at your venue. But there are so many I haven’t yet had the opportunity to see. Which is why I love wedding photography; because shooting at a new venue is very exciting and as an experienced multi award winning photographer, working somewhere new is a great opportunity to make photos that no one else has in their wedding album.
“Do I need two photographers?”
I do know and have worked with many great photographers since my first wedding in 2006, however over 95% of the weddings I shoot are just me. There are of course some instances that you may want to have two photographers which we can discuss. However, another important thought is that you may want to have a photographer - like me - where my style is un-obtrusive and of a documentary, candid nature, so having two photographers may feel too much of an intrusion to your wedding day. So unless it’s something that you really need, I would say you will get more value ordering a beautiful wedding album than paying for two photographers. I’m happy to discuss this in more detail of course so let me know your thoughts.
“Do you sell wedding albums and are they expensive?”
THE QUICK ANSWER IS YES AND THEY ARE PRICELESS - Let me explain… I think albums are such an important part of photography. In fact, any printed photograph is a must for me. Especially In the age of digital photography, it’s getting less & less popular to have an album professionally made. When in fact holding an album in your hands is an amazing feeling compared to any modern digital devise. But are they expensive? - Well, the cost of a good quality album can be summed up with a statement a client made a few years ago… “MY WEDDING ALBUM COST LESS THAN HIRING MY CHAIR COVERS!” Your wedding photos and especially your album will become priceless over the next 10, 20, 30 years - How much would you sell your parents album for?
“What do you charge” (value for money) - see fees above
There will always be a limit to your wedding budget, so it’s important you spend it on the things you want or need first; Venue being the first on the list in most cases. However, your wedding photographs are the only thing that become more valuable year on year - you could even say priceless! So make sure you book a photographer who’s work you love. Look at the photographers style & quality of work - Is their work consistent? Or does each image look like it’s been taken by different photographers? How does their work make you feel when you are viewing it? When you have made your choice, book early so not to be disappointed and try to look at the value of what you will get and keep for many years, not just the upfront cost.
Why should we book you?
Consistency in my work - I believe this is the most important thing to look for when choosing your photographer… Being consistent means that you will have much more confidence and trust in getting what you have paid for. Photography is very subjective and some people looking at my site will love my work and some may not. Which is a good thing, in as much as you will have a clear understanding of how your photographs will look. Do my photographs connect with you when you view them? If you like my work you will notice that the images have the same look and feel to each other. Although my portfolio is made up of many different weddings; people, venues and of course different weather conditions, the images are consistent - no gimmicks and no ‘fashionable’, outdated filters or effects.
Can we see a whole wedding gallery of yours before booking?
YES! It is important to see the photographers work online but this can sometimes only be selected images and not a full days wedding. Any photographer who is confident in their ability will offer you the chance to see galleries from previous weddings they have photographed. When we have spoken on the phone I will send you links to some wedding galleries where you can see every photograph I sent to the couple for them to download and keep.
