Alpaca farm engagement session? Yep, we’re here for it! Dana & Eric’s shoot took place in New Hampshire; complete with boho decor, a stunning sunset, smoke bombs and a feather bouquet, we’re not entirely sure what else you could possibly need! Eric proposed whilst the two were hiking in the Andes, and once they reached Rainbow Mountain (even the name is awesome), Eric decided to pop the question. The farm choice was reminiscent of their surroundings during the moment, due to plenty of alpacas being present. They finished their session with an Apple Cider toast and a few donuts - honestly, we can’t think of anything else more perfect than that.
How We Met
We met each other in Colorado and instantly both of us knew that we found our forever buddy! Oddly enough, once we got to talking it turned out we were both from Massachusetts and grew up about 30 minutes away from one another! Our first date was at an old morgue turned restaurant, and ever since we’ve loved doing all things spooky and strange together.
Engagement Session
If you’re thinking about an engagement session, then we would suggest going for it! If you’re struggling to find a location that suits you, think about a place that matters to you, or is reminiscent of your proposal (similar to Dana & Eric). It’s also the perfect opportunity to get the ball rolling in terms of thinking about your Big Day - it could give you an idea of styling, your wedding photography, and location. And honestly, if you fancied heading to an alpaca farm also, we really wouldn’t blame you…
The Proposal
We got engaged on October 26th, 2020 at Rainbow Mountain in Peru. We trekked through the Andes for 2 days climbing up to 16,000 ft in elevation. I told the tour guide the plan, and he set us up to take our ‘tourist pictures’ at the top of the mountain. Then, with tingling fingers and a shortness of breath (from the elevation), I went down on one knee during the pictures and said the words “will you marry me?” Dana looked me in the eyes and said ”are you joking?” Can you guess what happened next? She said yes! Everyone at the top of the mountain cheered. It was the perfect ending to two days of hiking way above our league.
