Inspiration

Choosing a destination wedding was the best decision we made. Most of the guests were in Croatia for a week which meant everyone was able to relax and soak up the sunshine before the big day. The ceremony was conducted by my father-in-law making it intimate, full of laughter and one of our favourite moments of the day. My sister designed and created our wedding bands and engagement ring which added an extra sentimental layer to the day. Having a beach-club wedding venue moments from the Adriatic sea allowed us to achieve a laid-back and carefree style.

We adore summer so wanted a relaxed atmosphere with a hint of chic! Guests were greeted with welcome cocktails including Gin Fizz and Mojitos which really set the tone for the day ahead. Pinterest boards were our saving grace and allowed us to create a consistent look. We used organic arrangements to compliment the stunning surroundings and view of the Adriatic Sea. Greens and whites were used for my bouquet, which worked beautifully with the bridesmaids who wore gold and these natural palettes were woven into our styling.

Our wedding week was set in Trogir- we made loose plans inviting guests to join us at a local bar for fizz the night before the big day. The day after the wedding, we continued the celebrations at our pool. Planning a destination wedding can be stressful, so we advise using a wedding planner if you don’t speak the language. We flew to Croatia on a few occasions to visit the venue and meet the wedding planners to discuss what was important for us on the big day. I had my hair and make-up trials 5 months prior to the wedding, so I felt confident with the final look.
