What Made Our Day Unique
Bolton Abbey was the setting of one of our first dates when we started dating aged 17 and 18 – over ten years ago so has always held a special place in our hearts. When we heard that there was a wedding venue in the process of being built, it was the first and only venue we scheduled to see - we fell in love with the barn on our first meeting. Being childhood sweethearts, we wanted to involve everybody in our love story and that became the theme of our special day: love stories. Each table was named after a 'chapter' of our relationship and photos of family weddings graced the covers of books in our 'library of love'.
Bolton Abbey Wedding
Having had their first few dates at this Yorkshire beauty spot it made sense to hold a Bolton Abbey wedding, in the rustic Tithe Barn, recreating photos they had taken back in their teen years - making more memories somewhere that already means so much to this couple! The day followed the 'love story' theme throughout from the 'library of love' where family love stories (weddings) graced the front cover of books to the centrepieces and table displays which were each named after a 'chapter' in their very own love story!Inspiration & Stlying
The theme of our day was 'Our Love Story' and we wanted it to feel relaxed and romantic with a boho edge. Big, bloomy roses helped me envisage how I wanted the wedding to come together. A lot of the ideas for styling were an amalgamation of weddings/images I'd seen online so my mum (aka my wedding planner!) and I spent most weekends sourcing materials/products and making things based on ideas I had. This meant visiting charity shops for books, trawling eBay for old room dividers and wholesalers for apple crates!

Suppliers
I used The List and other real weddings on RMW to source inspiration. I always made time to try and speak to/meet in person my suppliers as I often like control so wanted to know that they understood me and my vision for the day...
