Jenny & Maurice included Chinese wedding traditions within their beautiful day, and we are so pleased they did! Having family and friends from all over the world, plenty of their guests travelled to witness this gorgeous couple say their I-do’s. Both loving Autumnal colours, their wedding took place in October, featuring a colour scheme of gold, burgundy’s and navy blues. Oh, and do not forget to check out that croquembouche! How awesome? We wanted a relaxed and informal vibe to the day. Basically, we just wanted a big party with all our friends and family there!
ADVICE
Our advice for other couples is to make the day yours. Don’t put pressure on yourself to make a wedding that’s ‘instagrammable’ – you want the day to be perfect for yourselves. We would also say that having the trust with suppliers is so important. Any reputable suppliers will work with you and help you create your vision. We were incredibly lucky with all the suppliers we had used, and have recommended them to several of our friends.
MUSIC
As we are massive musical fans (our favourite is Phantom of the Opera). We managed to somehow find an instrumental version of one of the songs to walk down the aisle, which was magical (and also seeing everyone in the same room)! We didn’t have any readings at our wedding, but to break away from tradition, both myself and my husband did a speech.
CHINESE TEA CEREMONY
Having family and friends all over the world, we felt incredibly loved that our guests travelled far and wide to join us on our big day, at a venue that we fell in love with the moment we visited. We also incorporated a Chinese Tea Ceremony into the day, which was a completely new experience for many of our friends and gave a unique insight into Chinese wedding traditions – any reason to have multiple dress changes!
We love the emotions captured during the Chinese Tea Ceremony. So incredibly sentimental and heartfelt.
We knew from the start that we wanted to make the day memorable for everyone, from the ceremony through to the entertainment, whilst incorporating some Chinese wedding traditions into the day.
