Inspiration

There was no doubt that this Interior Designer's wedding was going to be beautifully styled and of course have a stunning bridal outfit that included a detachable skirt wedding dress. The exposed brick wedding venue, Calke Abbey in Derbyshire was decorated in neutral tones, drapes and festoon lights making for a soft, romantic feel for the day with acrylic signs and a hanging seating chart. The ceremony space was open and bright with beautiful floral arrangements that lined the aisle, pampas grass highlights and a foliage moon gate to frame the totally gorgeous couple as they said their vows.

What Made Our Day Unique

We had the most magical day because of the people around us. We went for a lot of dried flowers for the decor including a pampas cloud and as a bonus we were able to keep these afterwards since they were dried. Our service was short, but the live string quartet gave it such a different feel and gave everyone something to remember - during the signing of the registrar the string quartet played Disney songs like ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ and we could see our guests trying to figure out what the song was and then twigging when they got it!

Olivia & Matt

Deatchable Skirt Wedding Dress

The bride, Olivia (aka. Lust Living on Insta!), looked truly beautiful in a Pronovias detachable skirt wedding dress. For the ceremony, Olivia walked down the aisle, to meet her blue velvet wearing groom, in the lace number with the tulle skirt attached creating a beautiful long train, however, for the evening the skirt was removed revealing an elegant, figure-hugging dress ready for all the dancing to their entertainment - The Souljers!

Inspiration & Styling

The main agenda for the day was to relax out and soak up every second of our day. We wanted our guests to enjoy all the little things, like the string quartet, personalised place settings, amazing food and an open bar. We wanted it to be a day to remember, not just for us but for our nearest and dearest attending too.

Olivia & Matt

The Riding School at Calke Abbey is a National Trust property in Derbyshire and is a stunning wedding venue with tonnes of exposed brick and high ceilings. It is a blank canvas that Olivia & Matt decorated beautifully with soft tones, pampas grass, drapes, festoon lighting and finished it off with a moon gate altar. And we have much more where this came from, take a look at this real wedding at Calke Abbey with a delicious doughnut wall!
