Inspiration

A city wedding with a relaxed vibe is what really makes this ceremony at The Asylum Chapel special. Gorgeous fresh flowers with blushes and taupes filled the ceremony and reception, which works perfectly with the dusky pink bridesmaid dresses and navy woollen suits. The images come from Miss Gen, who expertly captured this elegant city wedding day.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom walked around the streets of London with the photographer, which became one of the highlights of their day. Post-ceremony drinks consisted of champagne (and gin cocktails!) followed by a reception at this foodie couple's favourite London restaurant, Hawksmoor. The bride and groom are big music lovers and spent time putting together their wedding playlist, which included walking down the aisle to 'Sweet Disposition’ and signing the register to the Beach Boys', ‘God Only Knows’, all coming together to make this special day one to never forget.

WHAT MADE OUR DAY UNIQUE

"We always knew that we wanted to get married in London. We both love interesting buildings with lots of character and a rich history, so finding the right London venues was very important to us in the planning process. Asylum Chapel definitely ticks both of those boxes! The atmosphere there feels incredibly special and the space itself is unique. We can’t think of another London wedding venue you can compare it to. We’re both real foodies so having excellent food and wine at our wedding was an absolute must too. We chose to have our wedding reception at Hawksmoor Guildhall in the City of London because again, Guildhall is an area steeped with history and old London charm. Hawksmoor is also one of our favourite restaurants in London – we love the amazing food and relaxed atmosphere that tied in well with the contemporary, low-key feel we wanted the day to reflect. We also love the CIty of London at the weekend – it becomes so quiet and peaceful so a Saturday wedding in Guildhall seemed a natural choice." - Emily & Julian

Dusky pink bridesmaid dresses

The beautiful dusky pink bridesmaid dresses from Ghost were the perfect match to the bride's amazing platform wedding shoes from Miu Miu. These satin shoes were tucked away under the bride's stunning gown from Charlie Brear and teamed up with the bride's elegant pair of blue topaz drop earrings. The bride had her hair in a loose chignon and wore floral porcelain hairpins, handmade by Luna Bea. Keeping with the elegant and timeless style, the groom and his groomsmen wore tailored three-piece navy suits from Beggar's Run and brown leather brogues from Grenson.

INSPIRATION & STYLING

"The vibe of our day was contemporary city and we wanted to keep the style simple, elegant, and timeless. Think Autumnal, with navy, blush pinks and taupes, greenery – and candlelight and stained glass." - Emily & Julian
