Inspiration

When you find the perfect wedding venue, everything else just falls into place. The oh so gorgeous, and highly recommended, Elmore Court, Grade II listed Manor House in Gloucestershire paved the way for Shireen and Josh's classic wedding complete with fitted wedding dress, pink and white flowers and incredibly atmospheric celebration captured by Ross Talling Photography. There was even some homemade fudge and jam favours so they could 'spread the love.' Just lovely.

What Made Our Day Unique

Elmore Court and the Gillyflower made our day unique. We still think it's the most beautiful and special venue. Since the wedding, people have commented on how they haven't been anywhere like Elmore before. It's eccentric, it's laid back, and it's stunning. The house has the real 'wow' factor as you see it from the drive, and the beautiful Gillyflower hidden at the back lights up with its copper walls and hanging lights from the ceiling. The huge windows studded around the room let us see the beautiful grounds bathed in sunshine. It was the perfect setting for our day.

Fitted Wedding Dress

The term 'fits like a glove' has to have been coined for beautiful bride Shireen in her Pronovias fitted wedding dress! It hangs to her every curve and she looks like an absolute goddess in it. The cowl back and button details add texture to the otherwise minimalist wedding dress which gives it the extra WOW factor. She completes her look with Jimmy Choo's and Tilly Thomas Lux slides and is the epitome of elegance.

We are both quite chilled out. We knew we wanted an elegant and classy vibe, but also didn't want it to be pretentious. Our colour theme was ivory, blush pink and gold. We wanted to keep the decoration simple, with the focus on the flowers, which were our biggest splurge. We've lost count of the number of people who commented on how beautiful they were. This was really showcased in the Gillyflower with the combination of low and chandelier vases on the tables, once again hoping to keep the vibe classy but not over the top.

Our favourite part of the day was definitely being able to slip away with Ross to have our photos taken. Walking around the beautiful grounds, we were able to have some alone time together, reflect upon the day, and just relax and breathe! It was lovely to see our guests having fun through the huge windows of the Gillyflower, and allow ourselves a little moment of smugness over how well the day had gone! Walking into the Gillyflower and seeing it look so beautiful, with all our favourite people there, was also a highlight.

Shireen & Josh's once piece of advice for couples to be is to RELAX! "It's the happiest day of your life – don't get stressed over little details, or argue over something you'll laugh about a few months down the line. Don't compromise on your venue – when we walked into Elmore Court we knew it was The One. Once we chose our venue, it was easy to plan everything else. We found that a spreadsheet on our outgoings and how much we still owed helped, as we knew when to budget. On the day, make sure you take a breather with just the two of you, as it'll be over before you know it."
