The Inspiration
From The Photographer: I have a passion for styling and indeed photography. As a wedding photographer nothing excites me more when I can photograph a bride that dares to be different on her big day. I love colour, contrast and different textures together. I adore nature and outdoors so it was only natural that I would chose locations that had an abundance of colour and indeed beauty. I carried out this shoot in the hope that I might inspire brides out there that it is ok to be true to your own unique style on your wedding day, and in return I hoped to attract creative brides and grooms in the future.
The inspiration behind this shoot was bohemian meets rock chic. Two styles which I adore in equal amounts. I wanted the colours in this shoot to be earthy and warm. I asked the florist for colourful flowers mixed with plenty of greenery. I wanted them large and wild with long tumbling ribbons and she did not disappoint. The flowers were simply breathing taking and complimented my mis-matched clothes perfectly. The contrasting colours of the clothes combined with the natural greenery of the flowers and locations made my vision come true. The locations chosen for the shoot were again inspire by colour and nature. The beautiful barley field with wild poppies and the secluded little river were ideal locations.
The Styling
Styling was by
Rashida Keenan. I chose a tulle skirt and sequin top for the first half off the shoot as I adored the different textures together. I felt it was a perfect young, fun look to compliment those beautiful wild blooms with long ribbons. A look which can be easily re-created for any bride or bridesmaid.
The second part I used mostly a leather jacket and vintage lace tea dress for a slightly edgier, cooler, rock chic vibe. Perfect for engagement photography or the day after your wedding day.
The Flowers
Caroline was my one and only choice for this shoot. Winning Irish Wedding Awards Wedding Florist of the year 2017, not only is she super talented and creative she easily brought my vision to life with that spectacular bouquet and floral crown. She is a dream to work with and instantly new what I wanted. She never disappoints.
The Beauty
Our model was Sheryl McNamee – I felt Sheryl had the perfect look to carry off these alternative looks. A perfect combination of youth , attitude and good looks. Make up was by the talented
Maeve Hollywood. Maeve instantly understand what was needed from her. She had no trouble creating that beautiful look. A dark smokey eye was the perfect finish to Sheryl’s alternative look. Maeve is an incredible talented MUA and one to watch in the future. Hair was by
Kathleen who was a great addition to our team. Easy to work with and had an abundance of talent and charm. She can easily transform hair into works of art. The flowing tumbling locks suited this shoot perfectly.
