Planning

I'm guessing quite a few of you may already be familiar with Hotel Du Vin, the lovely people behind lots of truly gorgeous boutique hotels up and down the country. I have long been a fan and have had the pleasure of visiting quite a few of their hotels over the years. So when they asked if we would like to go and stay at the Cheltenham property I jumped at the chance. The reason this stay was even more special was that it is the hotel where I spent my first wedding anniversary, and seven years on it was just as amazing. From the moment you arrive you feel relaxed. The welcoming and cosy atmosphere would be the perfect way to greet your wedding guests - yes, that's right. The lovely Hotel Du Vin hotels can be your wedding venue. With exquisite private rooms, gorgeous suites, a tranquil courtyard, and heavenly dining. Each hotel has it's own unique style and can host your wedding from ceremony, through to wedding breakfast and long in to the evening. And with their AMAZING knowledge of wines and spirits it would be rude not to.

The Hotels

Hotel Du Vin have 16 of the most stunning hotels up and down the country. From Edinburgh to the sea front of Brighton. If they are all anything like Cheltenham then you are in for a treat. With a sweeping staircase at the centre and stunning glass chandeliers it is truly beautiful. Exposed brickwork and bespoke murals create an eclectic look that sits happily alongside gorgeous furnishings. Each hotel has their own unique character and I adore the style of decor. It is so completely inviting and utterly beautiful.

The Rooms

What can I say here except, WOW! The Moet suite at Cheltenham remains my most favourite hotel room ever. It is breathtaking. Twin slipper baths and monsoon showers sit on an elevated mezzanine within the room. Luxurious fabrics and dark elegant colours make it feel ultra luxurious. Each of the rooms at all of the hotels has a fabulous selection of furniture and decor, each with the signature Hotel Du Vin bathrooms.

The Food

My gosh, the food at Hotel Du Vin is just exquisite. It's not prim formal dining but it is the most delicious French bistro-inspired taste extravaganza. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal at Hotel Du Vin. Every dish is sublime. If anything, it's too delicious as I find myself overindulging a touch too much. For your wedding you can choose from set wedding menus or choose your own unique selection to create a bespoke dining experience. The Head Chef will work with you to create a wonderful mix of canapés, informal buffet or five-course sit-down dinner.

The Drinks

What Hotel Du Vin don't know about wine could be written on the back of a postage stamp!!! Your special day is a great opportunity to pay particular attention to the wine. Undoubtedly a favourite subject of ours, you’ll find their in-house Sommelier very happy to assist you in choosing your ideal wines. With an extensive cellar of wines from some of the world’s top producers, the Hotel du Vin staff find exactly the right varietals and vintages to match the food, the celebratory mood and your budget. From great value quaffable wines to sophisticated, complex vintages, from the perfect bubble-count in your Champagne to dessert wines, we’ll make choosing the wine as enjoyable as drinking it.

Wedding Planner

To help you plan your big day in every detail, you will get your very own wedding organiser. Their job? To understand and bring your ideas to life (and make suggestions if needed) and then make it all come together on the big day - from arranging consultations with florists and hair stylists to designing the perfect menu and dressing the room.

Exclusive Use

If you want to create your own unique venue you can choose to book the hotel for exclusive use and really make it your own. You will have your pick of the bars, lounges and hotel rooms to ensure you and your guests have the most spectacular day.

Hen and Stag Parties

And if you fancy something a little bit more stylish than the usual L Plates, then we were excited to discover that Hotel Du Vin also cater for hen and stag parties. From wine tastings to cocktail masterclasses, cigar dinners to private dining options. There is even golf for the guys and packages can be tailored to suit all parties.
