Inspiration

We love gorgeous bride Laura because she wore an elegant, heavily embellished Jenny Packham gown to her laid back, barn wedding. There's a weird myth out there that you have to match your wedding dress to your wedding venue, which is pretty nuts if you ask me. Wear what you want, you'll look and feel better for it! Laura and Alex stuck to a fresh colour palette of greens and white, just adding a sprinkling of fairy lights to make things sparkle. Luckily Nick from Parkershots was on hand to capture all of the magic...

Rustic, Fun & Informal Wedding

Laura the Bride: The most special, perfect and amazing day of our lives. We took inspiration from magazines, many being Creative Bride magazines, Pinterest and other ideas we had picked up from other friends and families weddings. We knew from the beginning we wanted it to be rustic, fun, informal and relaxed with the idea of bringing the outdoors inside.

DIY Projects

Myself and Alex created and planned everything ourselves. We designed, made and put together the top table and all the other table centre pieces, wedding favours, table plan, outside area, festoon lighting, all the signs, lettering and directions etc. It was a large space to fill so we went for large statement pieces from 9ft olive trees that we lit up to Alex even making a 4ft x 7ft BAR sign that lit up which was a huge hit and we had so many compliments. It looked amazing!

Embellished Jenny Packham Dress

My dress was designed by Jenny Packham I didn’t want a traditional bridal gown. I wanted sparkles. Alex had his suit kindly made by our friends brothers as a wedding gift from their sister (one of our bridesmaids) who own Jones and Jones bespoke tailors.

Wedding Food & Drink

Drinks - we got over a few months of supermarket deals and created big buckets of 3 different beers, soft drinks, prosseco and a pimp your prosseco station with nuts and paper bags. With lots and lots of red and white wine for the tables and more prosseco for toasting during the speeches. We used Superevent’s for the catering. They provided the canapés and the wedding breakfast and part of the food for the evening.

Cheese Tower

Our wedding cake was a cheese wedding cake so we had that cut up with rustic breads, crackers, chutneys, pate, grapes and pork pies. For the wedding favours we bought small succulent plants and planted them up in small pots. These also doubled up as part of the table decor as well as place names because we attatched our own own tags with twine and hand wrote everyone’s names in a calligraphy style.
