Inspiration

These beautiful lilac bridesmaid dresses aren’t the only gorgeous thing about this wedding. Dean & Cecely, were married at Godwick after a postponement due to Covid. The vibe of their day was just ‘one huge party’ and we love it! Complete with neon signs, incredible florals and that beautiful barn aesthetic we love, each aspect works perfectly together. Focusing on the finer details, Cecely was sure to put her stamp on this incredible venue. Filling their space with The White Company ‘Fireside’ candles, tables named after loved ones they had lost, and incredible dried floral installations. All perfectly captured by videographer and Recommended Supplier, Race Wedding Video.

Lilac bridesmaid dresses for barn wedding

Having my mum walk me down the aisle was always something I felt so strongly about. Despite having uncles, best boy mates and a step dad I love dearly, I knew she was the only person for the job. It was a bitter sweet moment. She did us all proud.

THE DETAILS

For me, a wedding is remembered by the finer details. I wanted to ensure there was a point of difference, hiring the neon sign which shone ‘Till Death Us Do Party’ long into the night. The tables, named after lost ones who couldn’t join but we wanted to acknowledge. Confetti, which I had made during the first lock down, carefully picking during never-ending walks. Every guest was greeted by a huge cinema sign I hired reading ‘WORTH THE WAIT’. A reminder that everything happens for a reason. We were just so happy to finally be able to say I-do.

VIBE

The vibe was just one huge party. By July 2021 everyone was just so desperate for ‘normal’. Our photographer captured every single one of these moments so perfectly. Every expression of joy and love after 18 months apart. The faces of our guests first chance to dance, hug friends and listen to music. This wasn’t just a wedding, but a celebration of everything Covid had taken, now slowly coming back. In terms of styling; having a backdrop as beautiful as Godwick, I knew the venue would take centre stage - I just needed to put my mark on it.

Cecely and her white Nike’s with her wedding gown? A vibe. A mood. A necessity.

As soon as Whitney Houston ‘I wanna dance with somebody’ came on, everyone just lost it. Screaming, dancing and hugging each other. It was like every missed moment over the past 18 months we made up for it there and then. I remember looking at my bridesmaids, friends faces, family and my new husband just completely overcome with happiness. I just sobbed screaming ‘WE DID IT’ - I don’t think I will ever forget that feeling.
